Insight Enterprises is seeking a Power BI and Microsoft Fabric Admin to design, govern, and modernize our cloud analytics platform. You will define end-to-end data architecture, implement scalable OneLake storage patterns, and lead cross-functional teams in delivering high-performance dashboards and analytics.
The role emphasizes enterprise governance, Zero-Trust security, and DevOps automation across Fabric, Azure Data Factory/Databricks, and BI deployment pipelines.
We are seeking a Power BI & Microsoft Fabric Admin to design, establish, and govern our next-generation unified cloud analytics ecosystem. In this strategic technical role, you will define the end-to-end data architecture—transitioning legacy business intelligence environments into a modern, unified Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data infrastructure. You will implement scalable OneLake storage patterns, design enterprise‑grade Semantic Models using Direct Lake and hybrid storage modes, establish automated DevOps/ALM governance, and lead cross‑functional engineering teams in executing secure, high‑performance data visualisations and advanced analytics workloads.
Enterprise Fabric & Power BI Solution Architecture
Unified Lakehouse Architecture: Architect enterprise‑wide Microsoft Fabric capacity strategies (F‑SKUs), designing multi‑workspace tenant topology, OneLake shortcut frameworks, Delta Lake tables, and Lakehouse/Warehouse storage patterns.
Direct Lake & Semantic Modeling: Design high‑performance, enterprise semantic models using Direct Lake, Hybrid, and Import storage modes, optimizing memory allocation, relationships, and VertiPaq engine compression for billion‑row datasets.
Platform Modernization: Lead strategic migration roadmaps transitioning legacy SSAS, On‑Premises SQL, Tableau, or Power BI Premium environments into unified Microsoft Fabric workloads.
Azure Cloud Integration & Hybrid Infrastructure
Cloud Networking & Security Isolation: Architect secure cloud connectivity between Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and Fabric environments using Azure VNets, Private Endpoints, Private Link, and NSGs.
Identity & Secrets Management: Define Zero‑Trust authentication architecture integrating Entra ID (Azure AD), Service Principals, Managed Identities, and Azure Key Vault for credential‑free pipeline execution.
Capacity Sizing & Cost Optimization: Establish enterprise Fabric capacity management, smoothing, and bursting policies to balance interactive user performance with automated ETL/ELT workloads while minimizing cloud spend.
Enterprise Governance, Security & Lineage
Zero‑Trust Security Models: Design fine‑grained security architectures encompassing Row‑Level Security (RLS), Object‑Level Security (OLS), and Fabric OneLake DataAccess Roles across dynamic business groups.
Data Governance & Purview Integration: Implement end‑to‑end governance frameworks integrated with Microsoft Purview for automated sensitivity labeling, data loss prevention (DLP), compliance auditing, and source‑to‑dashboard data lineage tracking.
Domain Topology & Center of Excellence (CoE): Establish enterprise BI governance frameworks, defining domain ownership models, workspace lifecycle standards, and reusable template assets for self‑service business analyst teams.
CI/CD, DevOps & Automation Architecture
ALM & CI/CD Pipelines: Architect automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions, PBIP report formats, Git integration, and Power BI Deployment Pipelines for seamless dev‑test‑prod lifecycle management.
Programmatic Platform Management: Design enterprise administrative automation workflows utilizing PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Power BI / Fabric REST APIs for capacity monitoring, workspace provisioning, and orphan asset audits.
Model Orchestration at Scale: Govern semantic models programmatically using XMLA read/write endpoints, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, and the Tabular Object Model (TOM).
Be AmbITious: This opportunity is not just about what you do today but also about where you can go tomorrow. When you bring your hunger, heart, and harmony to Insight, your potential will be met with continuous opportunities to upskill, earn promotions, and elevate your career.
