Role Overview & Core Responsibilities

As a Political Analyst at Kamakhya, you will be the strategic and analytical anchor driving data intelligence across designated territories. You will bridge the gap between raw data and real-world politics, transforming complex numbers into insights and winning strategies.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end data synthesis, strategic reporting, and operational coordination.

• Narrative Tracking & Fast-Response Surveys: Monitor high-impact national events and unfolding political happenings. Rapidly design, deploy, and analyse CATI & CAPI surveys to deliver real-time strategic briefs to leadership, state heads, and clients
• Data Synthesis & 'Connecting the Dots': Review and digest massive volumes of survey reports. Look past the raw percentages to synthesise fragmented data points, cross-referencing statistics with ground-level intelligence to uncover the overarching trends hidden within the numbers.
• Analytical Reporting & Insight Writing: Translate complex quantitative datasets into sharp, high-quality qualitative reports. Demystify the electoral landscape by clearly explaining the what, why, and how behind shifting voter behaviours, regional caste equations, and current events.
• Cross-Team Operations & Report Building: Act as a vital operational link between regional field execution teams, data science units, and central leadership. Leverage Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets to manage incoming survey requests, maintain data integrity, and build clean reporting frameworks.
• Project Leadership & Coordination: Seamlessly process, mobilise, and execute localised survey requests from start to finish. Coordinate field logistics under tight deadlines, with senior profiles taking full ownership of managing, mentoring, and scaling project teams.

Core Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in consulting, management consulting, market research, election management, data analysis, or core analytical and report-writing role
• Political Acumen: A deep, intuitive understanding of Indian politics, local governance, and electoral dynamics, along with strong foundational knowledge of current state-level happenings.
• Analytical Rigour: A naturally analytical mind with a proven capability to interpret multiple data streams, identify hidden trends, and draw objective inferences that hold up under pressure.
• Technical Proficiency: Solid, practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for tracking, cleaning, managing datasets, and constructing presentable reporting frameworks (exposure to natural language to R/AI/SQL workflows is a distinct advantage).
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and cross-team communication skills to collaborate effectively across multi-functional teams. For mid-to-senior level profiles, a proven track record of managing teams and coordinating field logistics under tight deadlines is required.
