Job summary

LG CNS is seeking a PMO / Project Manager to support Banking and Core Banking initiatives across the region from our Chennai delivery office. The role requires close collaboration with Japanese clients and delivery teams to ensure governance, reporting, and successful delivery, adhering to Singapore PMO standards.

Japanese language proficiency is mandatory for business-level communication with clients and stakeholders. JLPT certification is not required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in IT Project Management, PMO, Project Coordination or Delivery.
• Banking/Core Banking domain knowledge is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Project, Jira, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Execute project governance and delivery controls per Singapore PMO standards.
• Manage schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and change requests.
• Prepare status reports and executive updates in Japanese and English.
• Coordinate across business, technology, testing, infrastructure and vendor teams.

Job description

We are seeking a PMO / Project Manager to support Banking and Core Banking initiatives for our clients across the region. This role will work closely with Japanese clients, delivery teams, and leadership stakeholders to ensure successful project execution, governance, reporting, and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating client requirements, managing project governance, and ensuring delivery excellence through our Chennai delivery office. All project governance, reporting, and escalation processes must be executed in accordance with Singapore office PMO standards and methodologies.

Japanese language proficiency is mandatory for this role. Candidates must be able to communicate confidently with Japanese clients and stakeholders in both spoken and written Japanese. JLPT certification is not required.

Key Responsibilities

PMO & Project Governance

• Execute project governance and delivery controls in accordance with Singapore office PMO standards and methodologies.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, and change requests.
• Ensure timely reporting, governance reviews, and escalation of critical issues to the Singapore leadership team.
• Prepare project status reports, dashboards, steering committee materials, and executive updates in Japanese and English.
• Monitor project health and drive proactive risk and issue management.

Banking Project Delivery

• Support Banking and Core Banking projects and ensure successful delivery of client requirements.
• Understand client needs and coordinate execution across business, technology, testing, infrastructure, and vendor teams.
• Oversee implementation, migration, integration, SIT, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, financials, and vendor performance.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the key liaison between Japanese clients, delivery teams, and leadership stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication across cross-functional and cross-border teams.
• Provide regular project updates, governance reports, and escalation reports.
• Bridge language and cultural differences to ensure smooth project execution.
• Promote project management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Japanese language proficiency is mandatory (business-level spoken and written communication).
• 3-5 years’ experience in IT Project Management, PMO, Project Coordination, or Project Delivery roles.
• Banking or Core Banking domain knowledge, include Accounts, Deposits, Loans, Payments, General Ledger (GL)
• Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Jira, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, Finance, or a related field.
