About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to lead project governance, product planning, and delivery for aerospace and avionics development programs. You will plan, monitor, and execute multiple engineering projects spanning avionics hardware, embedded software, systems engineering, verification & validation, certification, and manufacturing acting as the primary coordination point between customers and engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings strong aerospace/defense program management expertise, familiarity with regulatory and certification requirements, and the ability to translate customer requirements into successful product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Governance & Program Management
- Establish and run PMO processes, governance frameworks, and project management standards across avionics programs
- Develop and maintain integrated schedules, milestones, resource plans, budgets, and program dashboards
- Monitor scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality; drive mitigation and contingency plans
- Lead project, management, risk, and customer progress reviews; deliver metrics, KPIs, and executive reports
- Ensure compliance with aerospace development processes and applicable regulatory standards.
Product Planning & Requirement Management
- Gather and analyze customer requirements; convert them into clear functional and technical specifications
- Maintain requirement traceability through the development lifecycle; coordinate requirement reviews with customers and engineering
- Manage product backlogs, feature prioritization, and change requests, keeping customer expectations and engineering implementation aligned.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate across Systems, Hardware, Embedded Software, Firmware, FPGA, Electronics, Mechanical, AI/ML, UI/UX, V&V, Certification, QA, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations
- Track deliverables, design reviews, and development and certification milestones; monitor inter-team dependencies and resolve blockers.
Product Execution & Delivery
- Track multiple product development activities in parallel via schedules, action trackers, and milestone plans
- Coordinate internal reviews, customer demonstrations, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) through to product release and delivery.
Documentation & Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate preparation, review, and upkeep of engineering documentation SRS, SDD, ATP, QTP, CONOPS, technical specifications, user manuals, engineering change and product release documentation ensuring it stays current and aligned with customer requirements.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary coordination point between customers, certification authorities, suppliers, and internal teams
- Convert customer feedback into actionable development tasks and track meeting actions through closure
- Prepare technical presentations and demonstrations; communicate status, risks, and timelines to leadership and customers.
Product Validation & Certification Support
- Coordinate hardwaresoftware integration and support V&V planning, design reviews, testing, and certification activities.
- Track issue resolution during testing and customer evaluations; ensure acceptance criteria are met before delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- 812 years of project/program management experience in aerospace, avionics, defense, or embedded systems
- Minimum 3 years managing a PMO or multiple engineering programs
- Strong understanding of the avionics product development lifecycle, with experience managing hardware, embedded software, and systems engineering projects
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills; strong analytical, planning, and organizational capabilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
