Job summary

Sterling & Wilson in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced plumbing and firefighting site engineer to supervise installation works, review drawings, and coordinate with MEP teams to meet project schedules.

The role requires strong knowledge of fire protection systems, NFPA codes, and hands-on ability to manage testing, commissioning, and documentation such as drawings and punch lists.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting site execution.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, fire pumps, sprinkler and hydrant networks.
• Ability to interpret MEP shop drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of testing, commissioning, QA/QC procedures, and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute plumbing and firefighting installation works as per drawings, specs, and project schedules.
• Oversee installation of water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, and fire pump systems.
• Review shop drawings, layouts, material submittals, and specifications before execution.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, and other MEP teams to resolve site interface issues.
• Monitor daily progress, manpower deployment, material availability, and subcontractor activities.
• Ensure compliance with quality, approved method statements, HSE, and fire safety codes.
• Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning.
• Maintain inspection requests, testing reports, as-built drawings, and punch-list closure records.
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure timely execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• 510 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting site execution, preferably in data center construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, fire pumps, sprinkler and hydrant networks, water supply, and drainage systems.
• Ability to interpret MEP shop drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of testing, commissioning, QA/QC procedures, and applicable NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office preferred.
