Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC in Talegaon, India, is seeking a senior automation engineer with deep Siemens expertise to lead safety-critical projects.

The role demands 10+ years hands-on experience with TIA Portal, WinCC, PROFIsafe and gas-safety interlocks, plus system validation, FAT/SAT, and coordination with contractor manpower. This is a full-time onsite position posted on 29 Aug 2026 with an End Date of 25 Feb 2027.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience in Siemens TIA Portal and related PLCs.
• Experience with Siemens failsafe/F-series PLCs and safety logic (PROFIsafe, F-FB/F-FC).
• Hands-on experience with Siemens WinCC for SCADA/HMI development.
• Design and validation of gas-safety interlocks and ESD sequences for H2/O2 handling.
• Understand and develop software for FDS, I/O lists, P&ID cross-references, safety logic narratives, FAT/SAT.
• Support SIL simulations and virtual commissioning with PLCSIM Advanced.
• Team-lead or supervisory experience, ideally with contract/third-party manpower.
• Exposure to Profibus, Profinet, CAN, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, validation and testing of safety logic for H2/O2 handling.

Job Description

10+ years of hands-on experience in Siemens TIA Portalnamed directly (not just "PLC programming" generically).

Proven experience with Siemens failsafe/F-series PLCs (e.g., S7-1500F, S7-400F/H, or equivalent) and safety logic development (PROFIsafe, F-FB/F-FC configuration, safety function validation).

Hands-on experience with Siemens WinCC (Advanced/Comfort or Explorer) for SCADA/HMI development.

Design and validate gas-safety interlocks and shutdown sequences for H2/O2 handling - including gas detection, purge/inerting logic, pressure/flow monitoring, and emergency shutdown (ESD) sequences.

Understand and Develop software for: functional design specifications (FDS), I/O lists, control philosophy, P&ID cross-references, safety logic narratives, and test protocols (FAT/SAT).

Support software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation and virtual commissioning activities where applicable with exposure to software's like PLCSIM Advanced.

Team-lead or supervisory experience, ideally with contract/third-party manpower.

Exposure to communication protocols: Profibus, Profinet, CAN, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA.
