Job summary

Simplify Group is seeking a Manager — Platform Engineering IT to orchestrate platform delivery across three entities. You will guide five senior engineers, translate strategy into delivery plans, and drive platform readiness for releases and deployments.

The role blends hands-on technical review with delivery management, requiring strong cross-entity coordination and cloud expertise across Azure and multi-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in cloud platform engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a team lead or management capacity.
• Proven experience managing senior technical contributors (leads/principals).
• Track record of managing multi-entity or multi-client platform delivery in a SaaS environment.
• Working knowledge of SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own platform engineering delivery timelines across all three entities — ensuring platform initiatives are scoped, prioritised, and executed on schedule.
• Manage five Lead / Principal Platform Engineers; allocate work across entity tracks, unblock dependencies, and maintain quality standards.
• Translate AVP-IT platform strategy and guidance into actionable delivery plans for the engineering team.
• Run platform sprint cycles, manage platform backlog, and provide regular delivery status to the AVP IT.
• Coordinate platform readiness for product releases, client go-lives, and infrastructure changes across all entities.
• Serve as the single coordination point between the platform team and product/dev teams across SHC, SimplifyX™, and Simplify Alpha.

Job description

The Manager — Platform Engineering IT is a newly created Group-level management role that orchestrates platform delivery across all three Simplify entities. Reporting directly to the AVP-IT and guided by Sagar Joshi (VP Platform Engineering, IC/Advisory), this role bridges platform strategy and hands-on execution by managing five Lead / Principal Platform Engineers — each aligned to a specific entity or technical domain. This is not a purely technical role, nor is it purely managerial. The ideal candidate has deep enough cloud platform expertise to guide and review the work of senior engineers, combined with strong delivery management and coordination skills to keep platform initiatives on track across a multi-entity, fast-moving environment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Platform Delivery Management

• Own platform engineering delivery timelines across all three entities — ensuring platform initiatives are scoped, prioritised, and executed on schedule.
• Manage five Lead / Principal Platform Engineers; allocate work across entity tracks, unblock dependencies, and maintain quality standards.
• Translate AVP-IT platform strategy and Sagar Joshi’s architecture guidance into actionable delivery plans for the engineering team.
• Run platform sprint cycles, manage platform backlog, and provide regular delivery status to the AVP IT.
• Coordinate platform readiness for product releases, client go-lives, and infrastructure changes across all entities.

Technical Leadership & Governance

• Maintain deep enough Azure cloud and platform expertise to review architecture designs, implementation decisions, and technical proposals from the Lead engineers.
• Establish and enforce platform engineering standards: IaC practices, CI/CD patterns, naming conventions, tagging policies, and security baselines.
• Drive cloud cost governance across entities: review monthly FinOps reports, identify optimisation opportunities, and hold the team accountable for cost targets.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and DR standards are implemented consistently across all entity aligned platforms.

Cross-Entity Coordination

• Serve as the single coordination point between the platform team and product / dev teams across SHC, SimplifyX™, and Simplify Alpha.
• Eliminate the back-and-forth between development and infrastructure by proactively managing environment readiness and dependency resolution.
• Coordinate with the Director — IT Operations on shared infrastructure, SOC alignment, and compliance requirements.
• Manage escalations from entity teams; triage, assign, and track resolution without AVP-IT involvement for standard issues.

People & Team Development

• Conduct regular 1:1s with all five platform leads; provide technical and career development coaching.
• Drive a culture of documentation, knowledge sharing, and platform engineering best practices within the team.
• Identify skill gaps across the team (especially multi-cloud capability: GCP, AWS) and work with HR / AVP-IT to address through upskilling or hiring.
• Facilitate cross-track knowledge sharing so the platform team functions as a unified Group capability, not five isolated tracks.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in cloud platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure, with at least 2–3 years in a team lead or management capacity.
• Proven experience managing senior technical contributors (leads/principals); comfortable holding technical teams accountable.
• Track record of managing multi-entity or multi-client platform delivery in a SaaS environment.
• Working knowledge of SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
