Job summary

Rabbitinvest in New Delhi is seeking a backend engineer who is comfortable owning infrastructure and writing production-grade code. You will work directly with the CTO on building reliable systems, shipping features, and keeping the platform fast and stable as we scale.

This is a high-ownership role — you won't be handed a ticket queue. You'll be involved in decisions, not just execution, and you'll drive deployments, data pipelines, and API reliability across the stack.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Django production experience.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and relational databases.
• Experience owning infrastructure, not just features.
• Able to read and improve existing codebases.

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems architecture, APIs, databases, and server infra.
• Maintain platform reliability with uptime monitoring and incident response.
• Build automated data pipelines and data integrity checks.
• Integrate third-party financial data APIs and transactional systems.
• Own deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and release management.
• Ensure code quality with tests and peer reviews.

What You'll Own

• Backend systems — architecture, APIs, databases, and server infrastructure
• Platform reliability — uptime monitoring, incident response, performance
• Automated data pipelines — scheduled jobs, data integrity, error handling
• Third-party API integrations — financial data feeds and transaction systems
• Deployment pipelines — CI/CD, environments, release management
• Code quality — test coverage, peer reviews, reducing technical debt

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of backend or platform engineering experience
• Strong Python — you've built and maintained production Django applications
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and Linux environments
• Experience owning infrastructure, not just writing features
• Comfortable reading and improving existing codebases
