Job summary

Tower Research Capital is seeking an experienced engineer to design, build and operate bare metal Kubernetes clusters and related platform services. You will own tooling, contribute to operators, and help scale data infrastructure with low-latency requirements.

The role requires strong programming skills (Python/Go/C++), Linux systems expertise and hands-on experience with distributed systems such as Kafka and Etcd. Hybrid work options are available in a global engineering setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience with Kubernetes as a user and administrator.
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, Go, or C++, with strong systems knowledge.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, large-scale configuration management and distributed systems such as Kafka and Etcd.
• Knowledge of DNS, networking, security, enterprise storage and GPU operations.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, maintaining and operating bare metal Kubernetes clusters.
• Developing Kubernetes operator(s).
• Owning, maintaining tooling and documentation for developers.
• Packaging platform-as-a-service blocks such as stream services, data orchestrators, databases, caches, etc.
• Bringing innovation to the Platform.

Qualifications

• At least 3–7 years of experience working with Kubernetes as both a user and administrator.


• Expertise in one or more programming languages, including Python, Rust, Go, or C++, with strong knowledge of system programming, Linux, and troubleshooting.


• Experience with infrastructure as code, large-scale configuration management systems, observability practices and tooling, and distributed systems such as Kafka and Etcd.


• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies and protocols, including DNS, networking, security, enterprise storage solutions, and GPU operations and development.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and collaborate effectively in large-scale infrastructure environments.
