Job summary

Tower Cloud is building the infrastructure platform to free teams to focus on product and outcomes, not cloud complexity. We are seeking a Founding Head of Engineering to shape the product, platform, and architecture in close collaboration with the Founder.

This is a builder role, not a management role, with potential to grow into a long-term technology leader as we scale globally. The role requires owning technical decisions, moving quickly, and driving the company from its earliest stages

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating production cloud infra.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, DevOps, platform engineering and cloud-native systems.
• Design reliable, scalable and secure systems.
• Understanding infra security, risk, DR and compliance.
• Experience with ISO 27001 or security governance.
• Curious, rapid evaluator of new tools and approaches.
• Strong ownership mindset; can drive outcomes independently.
• Experience hiring and mentoring engineers.

Tower Cloud is building the infrastructure platform that allows teams to focus on building products, not managing cloud infrastructure.

We believe developers should wake up thinking about applications, AI agents and customer outcomes, not servers, Kubernetes clusters, networking configurations or cloud complexity.

We are looking for a Founding Head of Engineering to help build that future.

The Role

You will work directly with the Founder to shape the product, platform, architecture, engineering culture, security posture and long-term technology strategy of Tower Cloud.

This is not a management role.

This is a builder role.

You will be expected to make technical decisions, move quickly, operate with incomplete information, and help create a category-defining company from the earliest stages.

The person who succeeds in this role has the potential to become a long-term technology leader within the company as Tower Cloud scales globally.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, DevOps, platform engineering and cloud-native systems.
• Proven ability to design reliable, scalable and secure systems.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, operational risk, disaster recovery and compliance.
• Experience owning or contributing to ISO 27001, security governance or similar operational frameworks.
• High technical curiosity and a habit of rapidly evaluating and adopting new tools, technologies and approaches.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive outcomes.
• Experience building infrastructure, developer platforms or cloud products.
• Existing relationships with exceptional engineers, specialists, open-source contributors and technical operators that can be leveraged when expertise or rapid support is needed.
• Experience working in fast-moving startups with limited resources.
• Strong understanding of AI-native development workflows and modern engineering tooling.
• Experience hiring and mentoring engineers.
