Job summary

Roquette's Health and Pharma Solutions at Naidupeta, India, seeks a Plant Project Head to drive capital projects at the Naidupeta manufacturing site. You will be responsible for developing the site project portfolio, aligning with the global Head of Engineering, and reporting project status to the site leadership and business unit.

The role requires strong project management experience in pharma/food industries, overseeing internal and external project managers, and ensuring FEL deliverables,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or minimum 8 years of experience in Project Management.
• Significant experience in Food and/or Pharma industries and leading multiple projects.
• Experience managing project portfolios of $1M+ and leading site-based or FSDC engineering contractors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Site Leadership, Project Sponsors and Global Head of Engineering to develop Site Project Portfolio for PXB and Majors.
• Lead development of site project objectives and strategies with Project Managers and Head of Project Management.
• Ensure FEL process is followed and deliverables are met for construction and maintenance.
• Manage budgets, changes and schedules; ensure SAP and accounting practices support project needs.
• Lead safety and quality reviews, EHS checks and safe work practices on site.

Job description

We are looking for Plant Project Head for Roquette's Health and Pharma Solutions (HPS). He will be responsible for developing capital projects in Naidupeta manufacturing site. He is accountable to the site/business unit for capital projects implementation and status reporting, and responsible for optimal utilization of site project team/FSDC (Full-Service Design Contractor).

This position is located at the Naidupeta, India Manufacturing facility. The position reports to Plant Head & In dotted line reporting to Head of Project Management Europe-Asia.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Studies, Projects and Capital Execution

• Coordinates with Site Leadership, Project Sponsors and Global Head of Engineering (HPS) to develop Site Project Portfolio for PXB and Majors
• Leads and provides input into development of the objectives of site projects.
• Coordinates with the Project Managers and Head of Project Management to develop project execution strategy and priorities to support achievement of business objectives.
• Coordinates with Project Manager, Project Sponsor, and Finance to develop project economic model to support project justification and prioritization.
• Challenges quality of Basic Data to improve robustness of inputs before Detailed Design.
• Drives Value Improving Practices and uses experience to ensure Minimum Essential solutions are implemented.
• Supervises Internal and External Project Managers, suppliers or service providers who plan and develop capital projects at Site.
• Ensures the FEL (Front End Loading) process is followed consistently with the business needs, all required FEL deliverables are accomplished in a quality manner.
• Prepares the Project Manager for gatekeeping reviews or leads them when acting as Project Manager.
• Ensure the delivery of all technical design documentation related to projects for both construction and for future plant maintenance.
• Ensure procurement is engaged to set up and execute bid meetings.

Budget / Schedule management

• Thorough knowledge of capital budgeting process and how projects impact business performance targets.
• Manages budgets, change logs for projects to ensure budget is managed and controlled.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting practices systems (SAP, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets).
• Ensures development and maintenance of project schedules for site projects including detailed construction schedules.

Safety / Quality

• Ensures all the required EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) reviews are held, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements are incorporated into the facility design and installation.
• During Construction applies Life Saving Principles and applicable EHS standards.
• During Construction ensures Job Safety Analysis/Safe Work Permit development and toolbox meetings prior to contractor work. Ensures meaningful safety audits and tracks safety observations and make corrections.
• Knows, respects, and follows the rules in terms of food / pharma safety (hygiene, - HACCP), quality, hygiene and environment
• Leads weekly project progress meetings with contractors.

Background:

• Bachelors Degree in field of Engineering or minimum 8 years of experience in Project Management

Experience:

• Significant experience required in the Food and or Pharma industries.
• Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience managing project portfolios $1M+
• Experience leading Site-based or FSDC Engineering Contractors in successful execution of Capital Projects (5 years minimum) experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of Stage Gated Model of Capital Execution process (CEP)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with diverse Teams
• Demonstrated ability to deliver successful solutions through management of Site Engineering Team or FSDC (Full-Service Design Contractor) Engineering Contractors
• Working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another
• Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate work including dotted line reports in successful execution of capital projects
• Demonstrated ability to manage personnel development
• Demonstrated capability of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
• Ability to effectively delegate work outside of direct reports within the Site
• Actor and promoter of safety and continuous improvements across all areas of engineering

Training or professional qualifications:

• Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus (Optional)

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable):

• Manage a team of Project Engineers

Work Environment:

• This role spends 100% of their time at the manufacturing plant

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position. 8 hours per day, 6 days per week. Flexible depending on workload at the Site.

Business Travel:

• Travel is minimal for this role, but passport required as some international travel may be necessary
