Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure smooth manufacturing activities.
• Oversee aluminium formwork production, fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes.
• Coordinate with purchase, stores, maintenance, design, and dispatch to meet production targets and delivery timelines.
• Develop production schedules daily/weekly/monthly and monitor WIP, bottlenecks, and order status.
• Implement CAPA, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee end-to-end plant operations, production planning, manufacturing processes, and quality control of aluminium formwork products. The role will ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources while maintaining production schedules, product quality, operational efficiency, and timely dispatches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production Management

• Manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure smooth manufacturing activities.
• Oversee aluminium formwork production, fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes.
• Ensure optimum utilization of machinery, manpower, raw materials, and other resources.
• Monitor production output, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with purchase, stores, maintenance, design, and dispatch departments.
• Ensure adherence to production targets and delivery timelines.

2. Production Planning & Control

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and dispatch schedules.
• Develop production schedules and ensure timely execution of manufacturing plans.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), production bottlenecks, and order status.
• Ensure proper material planning and coordination with the purchase and stores teams.
• Track production performance through MIS, daily production reports (DPR), and key performance indicators.
• Implement systems to minimize production delays, material wastage, and idle time.

3. Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Establish and implement quality standards across all manufacturing processes.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy, finishing, welding quality, and specifications of aluminium formwork.
• Monitor incoming raw material, in-process quality, and final product inspection.
• Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
• Ensure products meet approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

4. Process Improvement & Cost Control

• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and manufacturing processes.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement initiatives.
• Control manufacturing costs, material consumption, and wastage.
• Improve machine utilization and reduce production downtime.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing activities.

5. Team Management & Coordination

• Lead and supervise production supervisors, engineers, quality teams, and shop-floor manpower.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Ensure proper coordination between design, production, quality, stores, and dispatch.
• Maintain discipline, workplace safety, and compliance with factory procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of aluminium formwork manufacturing processes.
• Expertise in plant operations, production planning, and quality management.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and finishing processes.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of production MIS, DPR, inventory, and capacity planning.
• Problem-solving, team leadership, and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and quality improvement tools.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

Experience

• 8-15 years of experience in manufacturing / plant operations.
• Relevant experience in aluminium formwork, scaffolding, steel fabrication, or similar engineering manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in production planning, plant management, and quality control will be preferred.
