Job summary

Ramboll India Pvt Ltd in Chennai is seeking a 2D/3D Plant Layout Engineer for Energy from Waste projects. The role focuses on creating and updating 2D and 3D layouts for WtE, Carbon Capture, Biogas and industrial plants using Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD.

You will develop plot plans, equipment and building layouts, support integrated plant models, coordinate with multiple disciplines, assimilate feedback from global teams, and help manage drawings and documentation on active projects.

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of experience in plant layout engineering, drafting or 3D modelling
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation
• Good English communication for collaboration
• Experience with 3D modelling in AutoPlant and/or Revit 3D is preferred
• Exposure to industrial plants or energy projects is desirable

Responsibilities

• Preparation and updating of 2D and 3D layouts of WtE, Carbon Capture, Biogas and industrial plants using Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Development of plot plans, equipment layouts, building layouts, sections and general arrangement drawings.
• Support preparation and maintenance of integrated plant models for multidisciplinary coordination.
• Incorporate review comments from project engineers and global teams into layout models and drawings.
• Assist in model coordination, clash identification and space management activities.
• Support preparation and updating of PFDs, P&IDs and associated engineering drawings.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical and C&I disciplines for layout development.
• Participate in layout review meetings and workshops and support closure of review comments.
• Support document control and drawing register management activities for active projects.
• Site visits, if required, and collection of site information required for layout development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software and industry best practices.

About the Role

• Experience in AutCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation is must 3D modeling experience in Auto plant and/or Revit 3D is preferred.
• Exposure to industrial plants, WtE, Thermal Power, Biogas, Energy or Process Industry projects is desirable.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, layouts and modelling principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn multidisciplinary plant design.
• Be diligent, focused and quality conscious.
• Ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural project environment.
• You are systematic and structured in your way of working and have a proactive attitude towards learning and development.
