Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in plant operations within automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with IATF 16949 / ISO standards and quality systems.
• Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams to achieve targets and improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall plant operations, including cold forging, production planning and execution.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, productivity, OEE, and delivery schedules.
• Handle cold heading, forging presses, and related manufacturing processes.
• Optimize machine utilization, cycle time, manpower productivity, and production efficiency.
• Drive die development, tooling maintenance, tool life improvement, and setup time reduction.
• Troubleshoot forging defects, material flow issues, and process deviations.
• Implement process improvements to reduce rejection, tool wear, and costs.
• Coordinate with PPC, purchasing, stores, logistics, and sales for timely delivery.
• Lead safety and EHS compliance across plant functions.
• Prepare MIS reports, KPIs, and dashboards; report to senior management.

Job Description:

Plant Operations & Production

• Manage overall plant operations, including cold forging, production planning, and execution.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, productivity, OEE, and delivery schedules.
• Handle cold heading, multi-station forging presses, and related manufacturing processes.
• Optimize machine utilization, cycle time, manpower productivity, and production efficiency.

Cold Forging Process & Tooling

• Oversee cold forging operations for automotive components, fasteners, bolts, nuts, and precision-formed parts.
• Drive die development, tooling maintenance, tool life improvement, and setup time reduction.
• Troubleshoot forging defects, material flow issues, dimensional deviations, and process failures.
• Implement process improvements to reduce rejection, tool wear, and manufacturing costs.

Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and applicable IATF 16949 / ISO standards.
• Drive defect reduction, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with quality teams for customer complaints, audits, PPAP, APQP, and process validation, as applicable.

Maintenance & Engineering

• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of cold forging presses, wire drawing equipment, trimming machines, thread rolling machines, and associated equipment.
• Improve machine uptime and minimize breakdowns.
• Coordinate with maintenance and tool-room teams for equipment reliability and tooling availability.

Cost Control & Continuous Improvement

• Manage manufacturing costs, scrap, rejection, consumables, energy usage, and tooling expenses.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Drive capacity utilization and operational excellence.

Planning, Supply Chain & Customer Coordination

• Coordinate with PPC, purchase, stores, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor raw material availability, inventory levels, and production schedules.
• Coordinate with customers on production planning, quality issues, audits, and delivery commitments.

People Management & Safety

• Lead production, quality, maintenance, tooling, PPC, and other plant functions.
• Develop departmental heads and build a performance-oriented team.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, statutory regulations, and workplace safety standards.

Business & Plant Performance

• Prepare and review MIS reports, production KPIs, cost reports, and operational dashboards.
• Drive capacity expansion, new product introduction, and process development where required.
• Report plant performance, improvement plans, and operational risks to senior management.
