Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires full-time M.Tech. in Industrial Safety or a one-year Diploma in Industrial Safety from a Tamil Nadu recognised institute.
• Approx. 5–10 years of relevant EHS experience.
• Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, audits, and internal/external management systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor applicable legal, regulatory, and internal safety requirements; perform gap assessments and recommend action plans for site compliance.
• Lead and maintain comprehensive risk assessments; define priorities, controls, and improvement plans.
• Provide safety input for design projects, new machinery purchases, equipment modifications, and organizational changes.
• Investigate operating abnormalities and safety events; elevate critical concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Share good practices across the site and wider network; participate in safety meetings.
• Lead cross-functional safety improvement projects and coordinate actions across departments.

Job description

ROLE

• Monitor applicable legal, regulatory and internal safety requirements; perform gap assessments and recommend practical action plans to maintain site compliance.
• Lead and maintain comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring priorities, controls, and improvement plans are clearly defined and followed through.
• Provide formal safety input for design projects, new machinery purchases, equipment modifications, and organizational changes.
• Investigate operating abnormalities and safety events, elevate critical concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Share good practices across the site and wider professional network; participate in or facilitate safety community meetings.
• Prepare and present the annual safety-domain review as part of the site management-system review.
• Support teams through safety governance, management-system activities, steering committees, training, and site events.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, authorities, and external technical partners.
• Provide technical support during management-system audits, regulatory inspections, and crises affecting the safety domain.
• Lead cross-functional safety improvement projects and coordinate actions across departments.
• Contribute to safety audits at other sites and, where appropriate, lead audit activities.
• Support wider coordination of the safety domain at country or regional level when required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Full-time 2‑year M.Tech. in Industrial Safety from a college recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, or a one‑year full‑time Diploma in Industrial Safety from a Regional Labour Institute.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the EHS field.
• Sound knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, audits, and internal & external management systems.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and communicate technical topics clearly.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and follow‑through skills.
