Join our Michelin UCH Site EHS team and help build a safer, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.
We are seeking an experienced safety professional to serve as the site’s safety specialist and trusted point of reference for many of the EHS domains viz Safety, Environment, Hygiene, etc. You will support site leadership, strengthen the effectiveness of the environmental and risk-prevention management system, and ensure that applicable internal and external requirements are understood and implemented.
Qualification: Full-time 2 years M.Tech. in Industrial Safety from a college recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, or a one-year full-time Diploma in Industrial Safety from a Regional Labour Institute.
Experience: Around 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the EHS field. Sound knowledge of EHS legislation, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, audits, and internal & external management systems. Ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and communicate technical topics clearly. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills.
Monitor applicable legal, regulatory, and internal safety requirements; perform gap assessments and recommend practical action plans to maintain site compliance.
Lead and maintain comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring that priorities, controls, and improvement plans are clearly defined and followed through.
Provide formal safety input for design projects, new machinery purchases, equipment modifications, and organizational changes.
Investigate operating abnormalities and safety events, escape critical concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.
Share good practices across the site and wider professional network, and participate in or facilitate safety community meetings.
Prepare and present the annual safety-domain review as part of the site management-system review.
Support teams through safety governance, management-system activities, steering committees, training, and site events.
Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, authorities, and external technical partners.
Provide technical support during management-system audits, regulatory inspections, and crises affecting the safety domain.
Lead cross-functional safety improvement projects and coordinate actions across departments.
Contribute to safety audits at other sites and, where appropriate, lead audit activities.
Support wider coordination of the safety domain at country or regional level when required.
