Job summary

Labour Net Foundation in Hosur & Mysore is seeking a Placement Officer to create sustainable employment opportunities for trainees by building strong partnerships with employers, MSMEs, industry associations and ecosystem partners.

You will facilitate placements, apprenticeships, onboarding and retention while tracking outcomes, managing MIS, and supporting career guidance, resume readiness, and employability workshops.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
• 3–5 years in Placement, Recruitment, Staffing, Employer Engagement, Skill Development, Livelihood programmes.
• Experience engaging MSMEs or employers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage employers to create placements and apprenticeships.
• Coordinate interviews, placement drives and employer interactions.
• Support joining formalities and onboarding; track outcomes for six months.
• Provide career counselling, resume support and interview preparation.

Role Summary The Placement Officer is responsible for creating sustainable employment opportunities for trainees by building strong partnerships with employers, MSMEs, industry associations, foundations and ecosystem partners. The role is accountable for achieving placement and apprenticeship targets by identifying suitable employment opportunities, facilitating employer engagement, supporting MSME empanelment for apprenticeship initiatives, and ensuring successful trainee onboarding and retention. The Placement Officer serves as the vital link between trainees, employers and the training centre, ensuring employment opportunities are aligned with industry needs while contributing to improved livelihood outcomes.

1. Employer Engagement & Partnership Development

• Identify, engage and build sustainable relationships with employers across industries for placements, with a special focus on MSMEs and apprenticeship opportunities.
• Build networks with employers, HR professionals, industry associations, foundations and ecosystem partners.
• Understand employer workforce requirements and align suitable candidates.
• Promote apprenticeship by educating employers on applicable schemes and benefits and facilitate empanelment’s.
• Conduct employer visits, networking meetings and awareness sessions.
• Develop repeat hiring partnerships through relationship management.
• Maintain an updated employer database and partnership pipeline.

2. Placement Facilitation

• Achieve placement and apprenticeship targets.
• Facilitate permanent, contract, apprenticeship, Gig, OJT and self-employment opportunities.
• Coordinate interviews, placement drives and employer interactions.
• Support joining formalities and onboarding.
• Improve joining ratios and reduce offer dropouts.
• Ensure tracking of their earning for minimum period of 6 months.

3. Career Development & Trainee Readiness

• Provide career counselling, resume support and interview preparation.
• Conduct employability workshops.
• Guide trainees on career pathways.

4. Placement Tracking & Livelihood Outcomes

• Track joining, retention and earnings for six months.
• Track self-employed candidates and provide forward linkage support.
• Identify early attrition risks.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Centre Managers, Trainers and Mobilisers.
• Leverage alumni networks and participate in employer events.

6. MIS & Reporting

• Maintain placement, apprenticeship and employer records.
• Track performance against targets.
• Prepare reports
