Job summary

Orion is seeking an experienced Manager Placements & Employer Relations to lead placement and internship opportunities for students trained in emerging technologies. The role focuses on building a strong employer network across IT/ITES, Cybersecurity, BFSI, Manufacturing, GCCs, MSSPs, Consulting and Technology companies.

The candidate will close bulk-hiring opportunities for freshers, manage the full placement lifecycle, and travel across India to drive recruitment drives and partnerships

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate with 48 years of experience in placements, recruitment, campus hiring, staffing, talent acquisition or employability programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete student placement and internship process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with HR Heads, Talent Acquisition Managers, Recruiters and Hiring Managers across IT/ITES and technology companies.
• Identify and onboard employers for internships, placements and bulk hiring opportunities.
• Develop and manage a strong Pan-India employer network.
• Understand technology hiring requirements and map trained students to suitable job roles.
• Organize virtual and physical recruitment drives, interviews, assessments and selection processes.
• Coordinate with companies for job descriptions, candidate screening, interviews, offers and joining.
• Track students from shortlisting selection offer joining and improve placement conversion.
• Negotiate internship, stipend, salary and hiring requirements with employers.
• Maintain employer databases, placement MIS, hiring pipelines and weekly/monthly reports.
• Develop long-term industry partnerships and employer tie-ups.
• Travel across India as required for employer meetings, recruitment drives and placement activities.

Role Overview

The candidate will be responsible for building a strong employer network across IT/ITES, Cybersecurity, BFSI, Manufacturing, GCCs, MSSPs, Consulting and Technology companies, and converting employer relationships into internships, placements and recruitment drives. The ideal candidate should have strong relationships with HR, Talent Acquisition, Recruitment Heads and Business Hiring Managers and proven experience in closing bulk-hiring opportunities for freshers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate with 48 years of experience in placements, recruitment, campus hiring, staffing, talent acquisition or employability programs.
• Proven experience in student placements and bulk hiring of freshers, preferably in IT/ITES or technology sectors.
• Strong Pan-India employer network with existing relationships with HR, Talent Acquisition and Recruitment teams.
• Experience in technology recruitment, preferably across Cybersecurity, Cloud, Software Development, AI/ML, Data Analytics, DevOps or IT Infrastructure.
• Strong track record of generating and converting employer partnerships into internships and placement opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, networking and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to independently generate employer leads, conduct recruitment drives and achieve placement targets.
• Strong understanding of the complete placement lifecycle from employer acquisition to student joining.
• Willingness to travel across India as required.
• Candidates from EdTech, Higher Education, Staffing & Recruitment, Campus Hiring, IT/ITES Recruitment or Skill Development backgrounds will be preferred.
