Job summary

Conserve Solutions Chennai is seeking a Piping Stress Engineer with experience to perform pipe stress analysis per ASME B31.3 using Caesar II, ensuring proper nozzle loads and support design. The role also involves interface with civil/structural teams and reviewing client technical requirements.

Diploma or BE in Mechanical is required, with 4+ years of hands-on piping stress experience. Onsite Chennai position; AutoPIPE knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or Diploma/B.E. Mechanical) with piping stress experience.
Knowledge of ASME/API/NEMA/TEMA/ASTM and IS codes.
Experience using Caesar II is mandatory; AutoPIPE is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsible for quality and adherence to project schedule for piping stress analysis tasks.
Prepare stress critical line lists for assigned projects.
Perform stress calculations for piping networks including critical lines.
Provide piping loads to civil/structural teams for pipe-rack and foundations.
Design piping supports components and review client technical docs.
Prepare project piping stress specifications and requisitions for supports.
Conduct technical bid evaluation for piping supports components.
Check sub-contracted stress and support documents and isometrics.
Coordinate with other departments for stress and support activities.
Identify and resolve technical issues related to stress and supports.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF PIPING STRESS ENGINEER

Experience: 4+ years

Location: Chennai

Degree: Diploma/B. E Mechanical

Responsibilities

Responsible for the quality and respect of project schedule for assigned piping stress analysis tasks
Preparation of stress critical line list of assigned projects
Performs stress calculations of all kinds of piping networks including critical ones
Issues piping loads to civil and structural discipline for design of pipe-rack/ technological structures and foundations
Responsible for the design of all piping supports components
Review of Client s technical documentation and requirements
Preparation of project piping stress specification and critical lines list
Prepare technical part of requisitions for all piping supports components required by stress analysis
Do technical bid evaluation for all piping supports components offers
Checking of sub-contracted stress and support engineering documents
Checking of isometrics being issued for construction for stress and support point of view
Performs stress and support engineering related activities for assigned project and activity
Reviews the stress and support related work of others whenever required
Technical and operative interface activities with other departments for stress and support related activities
Provides resolution of technical issues related to stress and support engineering
Prioritization and planning of engineering activities and deliverables
Conduct pipe stress engineering of piping systems as per ASME, ANSI B31.3, B31.1 code needs using Caesar II software program.
Perform evaluation of nozzle loads or vessels stress utilizing WRC 107/297 capability of Caesar II program.
Conversant with requirements like trunnion calculation, flange leakage calculations, qualification of allowable nozzle loads etc.
Locate support points in the 3D model of the piping system
Support selection to ensure proper working of the piping system
Optimizing piping layout by integrating the functions of piping design, stress analysis and support design
Estimate preliminary loads to release early the civil & steel structures detail design.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in Piping Stress analysis experience
Knowledge and experience with various ASME/ API/ NEMA/ TEMA/ ASTM, IS codes and standards as well as various PMC standards.
Experience using Caesar II (Mandatory) and preferably Auto PIPE software.
