Job summary

Carbon Clean in Mumbai seeks a highly experienced Pilot Plant Manager to oversee operation and maintenance of all pilot plants and skids in the Innovation Centre. You will marshal resources, schedule activities, and coordinate with Technology and R&D teams to generate and validate plant data.

The role emphasizes managing utilities, effluent treatment, and ensuring adherence to environmental, statutory, and regulatory requirements while leading multidisciplinary teams and sustaining safe,

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Chemicals / Petrochemicals / Oil & Gas industry.
• 3–5 years experience managing small chemical/petrochemical production plants or pilot plants.
• Knowledge of plant operations and automated chemical manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and maintenance of all Pilot plants and skids in the Innovation Centre.
• Coordinate with Technology and R&D teams to validate data generated at the pilot plant.
• Manage resources and plan operation schedules to meet data generation requirements.
• Maintain utilities and effluent treatment systems.

The Role

The Role of the Pilot Plant Manager is to look after the complete operations and maintenance of all Pilot plants and skids installed in the Innovation Centre. This includes coordinating with Technology Team and the R&D team to generate and validate plant data.

Role Focus(First 6–12 Months):

• Operation & Maintenance of all Pilot plants and skids installed in the Innovation Centre.
• Marshalling the Resources available to ensure smooth functioning of the pilot plant operations
• Coordinating with the Technology team and the R&D team for validation of data generated at the pilot plant
• Managing resources and planning then operation schedule to meet the requirements and data generation for the Technology / R&D team
• Managing operation & maintenance of all utilities and effluent treatment systems.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Focus Percentage:

• 50–60%:Pilot Plant Operations & Maintenance
• 25–30%:HSE & Statutory
• 10–20%: Administrative, Training and Audit

• Ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

You are an Ideal candidate if:

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience working in Chemicals / Petrochemicals / Oil & Gas Industry
• 3-5 years Experience in managing small chemical / petrochemical production plants or pilot plants
• Knowledge of plant operations in terms of operating an automated chemical manufacturing plant / pilot plant
• Working knowledge of boiler, compressed air, cooling water, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and wastewater treatment systems
• Understanding of various engineering disciplines such as mechanical electrical & instrumentation with the necessary working knowledge to manage plant operations
• Good Understanding of Chemical Plant operations and concepts
• Well versed with Process and Operations Safety for Plant Operations
• Knowledge of environmental, safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Knowledge and experience of participating in HAZOP and HIRA studies
• Should be able to work in ISO framework and maintain relevant documentation
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
