M.C. Dean is seeking a Physical Security System Administrator 1 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. The role supports intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, and related IT systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities include triaging issues, logging tickets, monitoring system logs, and deploying firmware/software updates. BS degree or equivalent plus 1+ years experience, or HS diploma with 6+ years are acceptable.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher with 1+ years of progressive experience or HS diploma with 6+ years of progressive experience.
• Experience triaging system problems and providing end-user support.
• Understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic knowledge of large-scale networking, VLANs and routing.
• Willingness to be onsite at customer sites during required hours.
• 1+ year of troubleshooting physical security systems in an enterprise environment.

Overview

We are seeking a Physical Security System Administrator 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to end users in accessing and using client Physical Security systems (CCURE, Lenel, Genetec, etc.)
• Answer help‑desk phone calls; triage initial calls, provide support, and determine when escalation is required.
• Utilize a technology‑based problem tracking system (e.g., ticketing system) to document help‑desk calls; record troubleshooting steps before completing the ticket or escalating to the next level of support.
• Support daily operations, including monitoring and reviewing system logs.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on significant issues at the appropriate level of support.
• Implement and maintain updates and enhancements of Security Video Management System, Security Key Management System, Security Access Control System Inventory Management System, Visitor Management System, and other related systems.
• Program software for new and existing Physical Security Systems.
• Update Security System configurations as required by project.
• Deploy firmware and software updates to Security Systems as required by project.
• Update System Programming Standards (Naming Convention, Configurations, etc.) as required by project.
• Troubleshoot and audit physical security systems related to access, monitoring, video, or other related issues.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 1+ years of progressive experience, or HS diploma/Equivalent and 6+ years of progressive experience.
• System administrator experience performing triage on system problems, resolving issues, analyzing data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
• Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic knowledge of large‑scale networking, VLANs and routing.
• Reliable attendance at customer site during required work hours.
• 1+ year of troubleshooting physical security systems in an enterprise environment (Access Control, Key Box Management, Video Surveillance).
• 1+ year of experience deploying or auditing physical security systems (new site programming, hardware additions, validating system programming for building objects).
• 1+ year of experience working on IT systems such as servers, workstations, and network switches.
