Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is hiring for a Hardware Engineer in the Physical Design/Implementation domain in Chennai. The role covers floor-planning, Place and Route, CTS, DRC/LVS, PDN and timing closure for high-frequency data-path cores, with emphasis on PPA trade-offs.

You will work closely with design, DFT and PNR teams, driving timing convergence using ICC2, Innovus and Tempus/PTS tools, and you should be proficient in Tcl/Perl scripting to automate flows and diagnose issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field with 2+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Master's degree in CS/EE or related field with 1+ year hardware engineering experience.
• PhD in CS/EE or related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in Physical Design/Implementation.

Responsibilities

• Physical Implementation activities for subsystems including floor-planning, Place and Route, CTS, Formal verification, Physical Verification (DRC/LVS), PDN, Timing Closure and power optimization.
• Exposure to PD implementation of PPA critical Cores and making right PPA trade-off decisions.
• Knowledge in timing convergence of high frequency data-path intensive Cores and advanced STA concepts.
• Well versed with the Block level PnR convergence with Synopsys ICC2/ Cadence Innovus and timing convergence in PTSI/Tempus in latest technology nodes.
• Good understanding of clocking architecture.
• Collaborate with design, DFT and PNR teams to resolve issues w.r.t constraints validation, verification, STA, Physical design.
• Well versed with Tcl/Perl Scripting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good communication skills.

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
• 3- 6yrs years of experience in Physical Design/Implementation
