Role Description

The Phlebotomist role at Healthians is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. In this role, the phlebotomist is responsible for performing safe and efficient blood collection from clients, including venipuncture and other specimen collection methods, following established protocols and infection control standards. Daily tasks include verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, preparing collection equipment, labeling and handling specimens accurately, and ensuring timely delivery to partner laboratories. The phlebotomist also maintains clean and organized work areas, adheres to quality and safety guidelines, updates documentation in the system, and provides a courteous, reassuring experience to every client. Collaboration with lab teams, operations staff, and customer support is expected to maintain high service standards and smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Blood Collection skills, including venipuncture, specimen handling, and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
• Candidates should possess solid Laboratory Skills such as basic sample processing, equipment handling, and compliance with lab procedures.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and fundamental concepts in Medicine relevant to diagnostic testing and phlebotomy.
• Candidates should possess Medical Assisting capabilities, including patient preparation, basic vitals monitoring, and documentation of procedures.
• Relevant certification or diploma in phlebotomy, medical laboratory technology, or a related healthcare field.
• Prior experience in diagnostic centers, hospitals, or home collection services is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow standardized protocols.
• Effective communication skills, professional bedside manner, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
