Job description

The Pharmacist will be responsible for medicine dispensing, prescription verification, pharmacy stock handling, expiry monitoring, patient medication guidance, and pharmacy documentation at Sri Narayani Hospital, Vellore. This requires D.Pharm or B.Pharm with Tamil Nadu registration and 0–7 years of pharmacy experience.

  • Dispense medicines as per valid doctor prescriptions and hospital pharmacy policy.
  • Verify medicine name, dose, quantity, expiry date, and billing details before issue.
  • Guide patients on medicine usage, dosage timing, storage, and precautions.
  • Maintain pharmacy stock records, issue entries, purchase records, and documentation.
  • Monitor expiry, near-expiry, shortage, and reorder requirements.
  • Arrange medicines properly with correct labeling, storage, and traceability.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, purchase, stores, and pharmacy in‑charge.
  • Maintain proper storage of emergency, high‑alert, and temperature‑sensitive medicines.
  • Support stock audits, physical verification, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Report expired, damaged, shortage, or non‑moving stock to seniors promptly.
  • Follow pharmacy regulations, hospital SOPs, and medication safety standards.
  • Ensure safe, accurate, and ethical pharmacy service delivery.
