Job summary

Qualifications

  • Provide differentiated instruction and academic support as needed.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

  • Teach Physics at IGCSE and/or AS & A Level according to the relevant Cambridge curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, concept-driven and inquiry-based Physics lessons.
  • Encourage analytical thinking, problem-solving, scientific reasoning, and independent learning.
  • Plan and conduct Physics practicals, investigations, demonstrations, and laboratory activities.
  • Prepare students for Cambridge examinations, including structured questions, problem-solving, practical skills, and examination techniques.
  • Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, practical activities, projects, and assessment materials aligned with Cambridge standards.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and academic support based on individual student needs.
  • Integrate simulations, digital resources, experiments, and real-world applications of Physics into classroom teaching.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Support students in developing independent research, investigation, and scientific communication skills.
  • Collaborate with the Science Department and academic leadership in curriculum planning and development.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, professional-development programmes, and other academic responsibilities.

Preferred candidate profile

  • M.Sc. / M.Tech. / equivalent qualification in Physics with B.Ed. preferred.
  • 37 years of relevant teaching experience in Physics.
  • Prior experience with the Cambridge International curriculum is strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Physics and/or AS & A Level Physics is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment objectives, examination patterns, and practical requirements.
  • Excellent laboratory and experimental skills.
  • Strong command of English with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to use digital learning platforms, simulations, and technology-enabled teaching methods.
  • Strong classroom-management, mentoring, and student-engagement skills.
  • Experience in preparing students for international-board examinations will be an added advantage.
