• Promote SHE, manage IMS/WCM activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Purpose

To support SH Mines Operations in planning and carrying out Drilling and Blasting operation at Bhadanpur Mines to fulfill limestone requirement of plant while complying to all statutory requirement and safety. Ensure cost effectiveness in blasting operations and maintaining desired quantity and quality of product.

Job Context: - Maihar Cement Works is a modern cement plant with a high level of automation, computer-aided data acquisition & sophisticated control system, which ensures quality at every stage of production. The Unit is strategically located at Sarlanagar at a distance of about 8 Kms from the town of Maihar on Maihar-Dhanwahi Road in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh. About 45 Kms South-East of Satna, a hub of Cement Industries in India. Maihar is situated at the Main Railway line of Howrah-Mumbai. It is one of the famous dots in the mythological map of India and also regarded as the abode of Goddess Sharda.
The Unit has a clinker production capacity of 3.0 MTPA, Cement Production capacity of 4.2 MTPA & manufactures OPC 43, OPC 53 & PPC grade of cement with Environment clearance for cement production capacity enhancement to 6.0 MTPA. Unit also has a solar power plant of installed capacity 12.5 MW DC / 8.75 MW AC and is equipped with the latest technology & equipment’s. The Normal Power requirement of the Unit is about 47.5 MW which is being met through our two nos. TPP of a total capacity of 2 x 15.7 MW. We have also a contract demand of 22 MVA with MPPKVVCL.
The focus area for Job holder is to ensure smooth Mines operations to achieve production and quality targets through effective operation and maintenance activities. The position is also responsible for reducing stores and spares cost, repair and maintenance cost through zero based maintenance budgeting, co-ordination with other technical, commercial, HR and logistic sections for day to day operation and providing timely and accurate information to Management for taking strategic decisions and effective planning of Mines operations. Ensuring safe working environment in the work place and 100% compliance to all statutory requirements is also key requirements for this position.

Job Context & Major Challenges:

• Statutory compliance : Challenge of complying Safety & Environmental requirements amidst recent/frequent changes in regulatory/statutory norms.
• Quality Management : Ensure desired quality of Limestone for required Plant Quantity despite challenge of balancing multiple critical parameters i.e. SO3,CL,MgO and LSF by planning & ensuring implementation of judicious blending with Clay.
• Local constraints – Managing local issues to ensure un-interrupted production from mining pits & capture encroached mining area from locals required for mining.

KRA1 Accountability: Operational Planning
Execute drilling and blasting operations ? Execution of drilling and blasting activities as per mining plan/scheme for fulfilling the requirement of plant, for limestone production, and overburden.
? Ensure availability of all grades of blasted stone in mines in coordination with SH Mines Operation.
? Ensure proper marking of drill holes for the drill machine and coordination of drilling activity with SH Mines Operation.
? Procurement of explosive/accessories and maintaining inventory to an optimized level in consultation with DH Mines Operation.
? Performing other Duties as and when required.
? Perform duties of superiors/peers in their absence
? Proficiency in SAP and PESO

KRA2 Proper Planning of drilling and blasting ? Maximize the blasting in the benches.
? Identifying and adoption of new techniques and achieve better orientation of working faces to fragmentation & reduce blasting cost.
? Protect all the installations for blasting fly rock.
? Identification and reduction of the losses.
? Motivating all subordinate employees in blasting towards cost effective workings

KRA3 Compliance under statutory requirements ? Ensure the Updation of in-house compliance manager
? Ensure timely renewal of licenses such as storage of explosive, explosive van, and ANFO Mixing.

KRA4 Focus on SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) along with Sustainability initiatives ? Ensuring 100% compliance of all safety standards and all applicable recommendations related to their concerned area.
? Educating team about “I know my job”, “I know the hazards associated with my job and I applied control measures” & “I escape to my senior” among manpower deployed in sections/department manpower including peer, WB & CL manpower
? Timely conducting scheduled SO round and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses on occurrences in the area of concern in system.
? To conduct daily Tool Box Talk as schedule and before start the job any critical job along with SWP
? Active participation in safety training, safety sub committees, standard champions meeting and any safety event
? Ensure good housekeeping, limited use of power, no leakage of water, oil, air etc. and reporting concerned if any abnormalities for corrective action
? Adhering of all safety precautions on the site and off the site
? Replicating good practice for saving environment for long run sustainability and creating awareness among manpower to save guard natural resources.

KRA5 Ensuring IMS & WCM Compliances ? 100% Adhere ABOEF related activity like Kaizen, OPL, Suggestion, Good to find as per defined target.
? Assigning & Implementation of all approved suggestions
? BCE & 5S score of concern GRT's.
? Developing of New Model area and sustaining current model area.
? Ensure to conduct quarter audit by cross function GRT team
? Ensuring documentation and conformity to IMS & ISO standards.
? Encouraging teams to actively participate in IMS and WCM activities.
