Job summary

Kyndryl in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Mainframe Performance & Capacity Management Specialist to optimize z/OS environments and ensure scalable performance for enterprise clients. You will analyze SMF/RMF data, configure WLM, and work with Parallel Sysplex across LPARs to forecast capacity and guide modernization efforts.

Candidates should have 5+ years of mainframe experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide 24/7 on-call support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mainframe performance and capacity planning experience.
• Deep knowledge of SMF/RMF data analysis and z/OS performance metrics.
• Experience with WLM, Parallel Sysplex, and multiple LPAR environments.
• Strong diagnostics, RCA, and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and capacity modeling for IBM z/OS environments.
• Analyze SMF/RMF data to forecast capacity and tune performance.
• Configure and optimize Workload Manager (WLM) and DASD/tape storage.
• Support on-call rotations and provide escalation-ready reports.

And finally, you’re open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.Required Technical and Professional Expertise5+ years of experience in mainframe performance and capacity planning on IBM z/OS platforms.In-depth knowledge of SMF/RMF data analysis, WLM configuration, and z/OS system performance metrics.Experience with Workload Load Manager (WLM), Parallel Sysplex configurations, multiple LPAR environments, and experience in capacity/performance reporting and modeling.Must have system performance understanding of mainframe components covering the areas of ZOS, JES, CICS, DB2 and IMS.Thorough knowledge in Performance analysis & tuning for ZOS operating environment / DASD / Tape storage systems.Ability to perform diagnostics and perform RCA [ Root cause analysis .Strong analytical and documentation skills.Should be a team player with excellent communication and technical skills.Provide a 7/24 service on-call to clientsCapacity Planning for Processor, DASD, and on physical processors (CECs) for various customers.Knowledge about forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, Virtual Tape, and Tape in a complex.Provide technical guidance to internal contacts in the design of infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and perform to engineered specifications.Preferred Technical and Professional ExperienceHands on Experiences with navigation , debugging and monitoring with tools such as RMF(I, II, III) or Omegamon or TMON or BMCHands on experiences with any Vendor products such as MXG, CA-MICS.
