Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS System Programmer to manage and modernize critical mainframe environments across India (Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad). The role focuses on z/OS internals, SMP/E, JES2/3, CICS/DB2/IMS/MQ, and automation to meet SLA-driven needs.

You will lead upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning while ensuring security, DR readiness, and high availability. Collaboration with vendors and teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IBM z/OS system programming experience with strong knowledge of internals.
• Proficiency in SMP/E installation, maintenance and upgrade management.
• Hands-on JES2/JES3 administration and operations.
• Deep understanding of mainframe storage and networking.
• Enterprise subsystem support for CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ.
• Skills in performance tuning, dump analysis and problem determination.
• Experience with automation and scheduling on z/OS; strong RCA capability.
• Knowledge of security administration and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools and SLA-driven production support.
• Scripting in Shell, REXX, or CLIST; vendor coordination and mentoring.
