You will help configure and test complex pension calculations across platforms, supporting UK pension clients and implementing enhancements in a packaged software environment.

The role suits candidates with experience in configuring or testing large-scale financial software, with SQL/PL/Oracle and Excel/ASPOSE skills, and a proactive, analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or IT environments is required; exposure to pensions IT projects is a plus.
• Strong skills in configuring or testing large-scale financial or HR software.
• Knowledge of data schema models and PL/SQL in SQL/Oracle.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ASPOSE integration.

Role Summary

We are looking for Pension Systems Calculations Configuration Analysts to join our team to be a part of the continual evolution of the Compendia and Administrator systems and rollout of our software to our client base. It is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that is responsible for the core configuration of our pension platforms. This is a great role for you if you already have experience in configuring and/or testing complex calculations within packaged software platforms or through the use of spreadsheet functionality and are looking for that next step in your career. The role would also suit qualified or part qualified actuarial students looking to utilise their mathematical skills in a rewarding environment and gain explosion and experience in the UK pensions market.

Core Duties / Responsibilities

• Undertake an analysis of requirements from user requirements or from a more detailed specifications


• Agree the scope of work and to provide accurate estimates for the work


• Configure, test, implement and maintain pension benefit calculations across both our pension platforms


• Continuously develop a professional, technical, and commercially aware approach to delivery of tasks


• Analyse changes and enhancements to client’s pensions schemes by taking a view of their impact on the software as installed for the client.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

A basic understanding of UK pensions arrangements would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Technical/Software development aptitude & ability. Experience of configuration and/or testing of large scale financial or HR software platforms and systems desirable or a related area within platform development, configuration or testing. Ability to understand basic data schema models Knowledge of PL/SQL scripts in either SQL or Oracle environment Knowledge of building calculation solutions using MS Excel and utilising ASPOSE to integrate into a consuming application.

Qualifications

In either a financial services or IT environment Experience in the Pensions Industry, either as a Scheme Administrator or Business Analyst experienced in capturing requirements for Pensions IT Projects. Demonstrable software development capability. Demonstrate commercial awareness & operational efficiencies/income generation in current role.
