Job summary

Utthunga Technologies in Bengaluru seeks a PCB Design Engineer specialized in Siemens Xpedition to design and optimize multi-layer PCBs. You will place components, route traces, verify footprints, and ensure compliance with DRC, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing constraints.

You will generate manufacturing outputs (Gerber/ODB++, NC Drills), perform Valor DFM analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams from design to procurement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in PCB Design and Layout.
• Experience with Siemens Xpedition PCB tools.
• Familiarity with high-speed PCB design constraints, impedance, and length matching.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and DFM/DFT considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PCB layouts using Siemens Xpedition.
• Perform component placement and routing based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
• Support component selection and footprint verification.
• Perform DRC and design verification before release.
• Review layouts for DFM, DFA, DFT, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing requirements.
• Generate Gerber, ODB++, NC Drill outputs and other manufacturing files.
• Perform Valor DFM analysis and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Prepare and maintain PCB design, component, manufacturing, and Valor documentation.
• Coordinate with Hardware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams.
• Support prototype builds and resolve PCB manufacturing-related issues.
• Implement engineering changes and update PCB designs and documentation.

• Develop and modify PCB layouts using Siemens Xpedition.
• Perform component placement and routing based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
• Support component selection and footprint verification based on design requirements.
• Perform component lifecycle and EOL analysis and maintain relevant documentation.
• Perform DRC and design verification before release.
• Review PCB layouts for DFM, DFA, DFT, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing requirements.
• Generate and verify Gerber, ODB++, NC Drill, and other manufacturing outputs.
• Perform Valor DFM analysis and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Prepare and maintain PCB design, component, manufacturing, and Valor documentation.
• Maintain component and design-related records throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Hardware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams.
• Support prototype builds and resolve PCB manufacturing-related issues.
• Implement engineering changes and update PCB designs and documentation.
• Support PCB design activities from design input through manufacturing release.

Roles and Responsibilities

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in PCB Design and Layout.
• Good hands-on experience with Siemens Xpedition PCB.
• Experience in component placement, routing, fanout, via optimization, and DRC.
• Good understanding of multi-layer PCB design, stack-up, and design constraints.
• Basic knowledge of high-speed PCB design, differential pairs, impedance control, and length matching.
• Basic understanding of power PCB design and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFT requirements.
• Experience with Gerber, ODB++, NC Drill, and other manufacturing outputs.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Valor for DFM analysis and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience in PCB and component documentation.
• Knowledge of component selection based on electrical, mechanical, availability, and lifecycle requirements.
• Experience in EOL (End-of-Life) analysis and calculation for electronic components.
• Ability to identify obsolete or at-risk components and support suitable replacement/alternative selection.
• Good understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• Knowledge of relevant IPC standards is preferred.
