Job summary

Xdlinx Labs in Hyderabad seeks an experienced PCB Design Engineer (Avionics) to design high-reliability, flight-critical boards using Altium Designer. You will translate complex aerospace schematics into robust layouts suited for harsh space environments, in a full-time on-site role emphasizing ruggedized hardware, thermal management, and space-grade reliability.

The role requires hands-on expertise in Altium, high-speed routing, EMI/EMC mitigation, PDN design, and strict qualification

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of dedicated PCB layout experience, preferably in high-reliability electronics.
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer including constraint manager and 3D layout.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong understanding of EMI/EMC mitigation, PDN design, and thermal management for space environments.
• Familiarity with IPC-2221/2222 and ECSS or MIL-STD standards.

Responsibilities

• Altium Layout Design: end-to-end layout for multi-layer rigid and rigid-flex boards.
• Avionics & High-Speed Design: controlled impedance, differential pairs, length matching, isolation.
• Space-Grade Standards: creepage/clearance, outgassing constraints.
• Thermal & EMI Optimization: thermal-aware placement, grounding/shielding.
• Component Library Management: space-qualified libraries with IPC footprints and 3D models.
• Mechanical Integration: collaborate with mechanical engineers for structural/thermal envelopes.
• DFM & Vendor Management: DFMs and coordination with fabrication partners.
• Release Packages: Gerber, ODB++, BOM documentation.

Job Title: PCB Design Engineer (Avionics)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to join our aerospace hardware team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will design highly reliable, flight-critical printed circuit boards using Altium Designer. You will turn complex aerospace schematics into robust physical layouts capable of enduring harsh space environments. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring deep knowledge of ruggedized hardware design, thermal management, and space-grade reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Altium Layout Design: Own the end-to-end layout process for multi-layer, high-reliability rigid and rigid-flex boards using Altium Designer.
• Avionics & High-Speed Design: Implement controlled impedance, differential pairs, length matching, and isolation for flight computers, telemetry, and power systems.
• Space-Grade Standards: Apply strict aerospace design constraints, managing creepage, clearance, and component outgassing factors.
• Thermal & EMI Optimization: Optimize component placement for extreme thermal environments and design robust grounding/shielding to mitigate EMI/EMC issues.
• Component Library Management: Build and maintain an accurate, space-qualified Altium library with verified IPC foot prints and 3D STEP models.
• Mechanical Integration: Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure structural, vibration, and thermal envelope compliance.
• DFM & Vendor Management: Run comprehensive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) checks and interface with premium fabrication partners to resolve engineering queries.
• Release Packages: Generate complete manufacturing documentation including Gerber files, ODB++, coordinate files, and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 6 years of dedicated experience in PCB layout, ideally with high-reliability electronics.
• Software: Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer (including constraint manager and 3D layout).
• Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Technical Knowledge: Proven understanding of EMI/EMC mitigation, power distribution networks (PDN), and thermal management for vacuum/space environments.
• Standards Compliance: Familiarity with high-reliability standards such as IPC-2221, IPC-2222, and relevant ECSS or MIL-STD guidelines.
• Location: Ability to work full-time on-site at our Hyderabad facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID / CID+) certification.
• Direct prior experience designing hardware for satellites, launch vehicles, or defense electronics.
• Familiarity with High-Density Interconnect (HDI) methods and heavy-copper PCB layouts.
