Job summary

Remote is seeking a Payroll Specialist Lead to join our Global Payroll Operations team in India. You will act as the country SME, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee end-to-end payroll processing, statutory filings, and payments while ensuring data integrity and KPI adherence.

You will mentor payroll specialists, back up regional managers, and contribute to process improvements in a fully remote, async environment with global scope.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end payroll processing.
• Knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in an international, asynchronous environment.
• Fluent in English both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Process full end-to-end payroll in-house, including statutory filings and payments.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across payroll processes.
• Handle payroll journals/reconciliations and KPI/SLA focus.

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Payroll Specialist Lead joining our Global Payroll Operations Team.

Job Description

• Act as a true subject matter expert for the country
• Manage existing relationships with key stakeholder within Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, Engineers.
• Process full end to end payroll in-house, statutory filing requirements, exceptions, approvals, payments and compliance.
• Ensure full data integrity and quality
• Payroll journals/reconciliations
• Focus on KPIs and SLAs
• Implement and improve processes
• Mentor and support payroll specialists
• Back up regional managers during times of absence

What you bring

• End-to-end payroll processing in-house or within a payroll service provider
• Knowledge of payroll best practices.
• Proficient in using software tools like Excel / Google Suite.
• An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact.
• Is a productivity geek and will constantly think of ways to improve and speed up their work.
• You understand the need and ideal to work largely asynchronously.
• Writes and speaks fluent English
• It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus
