JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Global Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Global Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end payroll operations across our global entities. This role is suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment, can independently manage multiple country payrolls, and is comfortable building processes as the organisation scales.
You will work closely with Finance, People, and external payroll partners to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, well-controlled and delivered on time
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own monthly payroll processing across multiple countries.
Manage payroll inputs covering joiners, exits, salary revisions, bonuses, incentives and full & final settlements.
Review payroll registers, exception reports and month-on-month variances before sign-off.
Coordinate salary payments and off-cycle payroll requirements.
Maintain country-wise payroll calendars and timelines.
Ensure timely payroll tax, social security and other statutory filings and payments.
Maintain country-specific compliance checklists and supporting documentation.
Track regulatory changes impacting payroll and coordinate implementation with local providers.
Support year-end payroll reporting and employee tax documentation.
Reconcile payroll registers to bank payments, accounting records and statutory liabilities.
Review payroll journals, accruals and payroll-related balance sheet accounts.
Strengthen maker-checker controls and payroll approval workflows.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
Maintain complete audit trails and payroll documentation
Partner with People, Finance and Treasury teams on payroll-related matters.
Manage third-party payroll providers and COR partners across jurisdictions.
Resolve employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
Hold external providers accountable for accuracy and agreed service levels.
Standardise payroll processes across countries.
Build scalable SOPs, dashboards and exception reporting.
Identify opportunities to automate payroll validations, reconciliations and reporting.
Support onboarding of payroll in new countries as the business expands

8 -10 years of payroll experience with hands-on ownership of multi-country/global payroll.
Strong knowledge of India payroll and statutory requirements including PF, ESI, PT and TDS.
Experience with jurisdictions such as Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE, Australia, US and Canada preferred.
Strong understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations and internal controls.
Experience working with global payroll vendors, EORs and payroll platforms.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort working with large datasets.
Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced fintech/start-up environment.
