Job summary

Applied Materials India is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Account Team Buyer to join our purchasing group in Bangalore. You will manage supplier forecasts, POs, ECOs, and material status, coordinating with planning and engineering to keep inventory aligned.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, more than 6 years in purchasing, SAP MM expertise, strong Excel skills, and excellent negotiation and English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years of purchasing experience mandatory.
• SAP MM expertise required.
• Proficiency with Excel and office systems; strong supplier management skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supplier operational management including Forecasts, POs, FGIs, ECOs, obsolescence, and MRP actions.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with planning and engineering to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Lead supplier quality activities in collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Expedite escalations to ensure timely receipt of materials and resolve material-related issues.

Our Group

Joining the material group owning suppliers operational aspects to support our tools around the world.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for Supplier’s operational management (Forecast & POs, FGIs, ECOs, obsolete, MRP actions, transitions, Repairs, service agreements, OTD, etc)
• Coordinates/drives purchasing activities with planning and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Leads supplier’s quality activities in collaboration with manufacturing and engineering departments
• Expedite escalations to ensures timely receipt of materials.
• Practice management without authority
• Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues
• Provides input to management regarding suppliers and material status, action plans and address long term issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher education in relevant field preferred Engineering - Mandatory
• Experience: >6 Years in Purchasing - Mandatory
• SAP MM expertise - Mandatory
• Knowledge of working with OFFICE systems (especially Excel)
• Ability to work and deal with many information systems.
• Service- oriented, experienced with suppliers and internal customers
• Independent, team player with high negotiation skills
• High level English (writing, speaking and reading)
• Excellent presentation skills
• Program management experience
• Commercial orientation
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Great interpersonal skills
