Role Description

The Paint Artist role at M Cube Studios is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City. The Paint Artist will be responsible for frame-by-frame paint and cleanup work, removing unwanted elements, fixing artifacts, and ensuring seamless shots in live-action and CG sequences. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with compositors and roto artists, interpreting shot requirements, maintaining visual continuity, and adhering to studio quality standards and deadlines. The role involves reviewing reference material, applying artistic judgment to enhance visuals, and following established VFX pipelines and naming conventions. The Paint Artist will also participate in feedback sessions, communicate progress with the team, and support continuous improvement of workflows and tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Paint skills, with the ability to perform detailed cleanup and removal work on complex shots.
• Candidates should possess solid Art and Animation skills, including a good sense of composition, color, motion, and visual continuity.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with supervisors, compositors, and cross-functional VFX teams.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in industry-standard VFX tools (e.g., Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, Photoshop) and familiarity with VFX pipelines.
• Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Animation, Fine Arts, VFX, or a related field are beneficial.
• Attention to detail, ability to follow creative direction, time management skills, and willingness to learn new techniques and software are expected.
• Prior experience in paint, cleanup, or roto/paint roles within a VFX studio environment is highly advantageous.
