Job summary

Molex Bengaluru is seeking a Packaging Engineer, Global Packaging, to lead global packaging strategies across the supply chain, focusing on optimization, sustainability and innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners in the Global Packaging team to drive cost savings, standardization, and compliance with international regulations.

This role requires 3–5 years in packaging development, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience (SAP preferred).

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in packaging development, improvement, innovation, validation, returnable packaging, sustainability, optimization and problem solving.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Drive global packaging optimization, damage reduction, and VAVE initiatives across Molex plants and acquisitions, delivering packaging cost savings through optimization, redesign, standardization, and material substitution.
• Ensure packaging materials and designs comply with international packaging regulations and standards.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for global packaging Optimization.
• Lead packaging market benchmarking and should-cost analysis to support sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Continuous packaging improvements and market best practice bench marking.
• Analyze packaging spend, pricing, and consumption data to identify strategic cost reduction opportunities.

The Packaging Engineer, Global Packaging, Global supply chain – is responsible for managing global packaging strategies and operations with a strong focus on packaging optimization, sustainability & innovation. In this position, they will be collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive global packaging excellence

Our Team

You will be part of the Global Packaging team within the Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence unit at Molex, Bengaluru.

What You Will Do

• Drive global packaging optimization, damage reduction, and VAVE initiatives across Molex plants and acquisitions, delivering packaging cost savings through optimization, redesign, standardization, and material substitution.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• 3 to 5 years of experience with Packaging development, Improvement, Innovation, Validation, returnable packaging, sustainability, Optimization and problem solving.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) for data analysis and reporting.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Exposure to packaging design and visualization tools such as ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Esko Suite, or similar packaging development software.
• Experience in packaging cost savings, should-cost modeling, and packaging market benchmarking.
• Strong knowledge of industrial packaging materials, packaging manufacturing processes, and global supplier markets.
• Experience with packaging testing, ISTA standards, and package validation methodologies will be an added advantage.
