Job summary

DS Smith's TMS Global in Gurgaon is seeking a Packaging Data Specialist to manage packaging specifications and technical data across materials. You will work with internal teams, suppliers and global customers to ensure information is accurate, well organized and accessible for decision making.

The role is hybrid: three days in the office and two days remote, with hours aligned to European operations. Strong Excel and Adobe Creative Suite skills, attention to detail and experience with CAD data

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a packaging-related environment.
• Experience with multiple packaging materials, substrates and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing technical specifications and packaging data.
• Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to read, interpret and create technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review and maintain packaging specifications from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Verify technical documentation including specifications, CAD files, PDFs and Excel data.
• Upload, classify and maintain packaging records within systems and databases.
• Support consolidation, organization and management of customer packaging data.
• Prepare and anonymise technical data to support RFQ and sourcing activities.
• Provide packaging data and specification support to procurement and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor packaging data quality and support KPI reporting relating to accuracy and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency and process efficiency.

About the Role

As a Packaging Data Specialist, you will play a key role within our established shared service centre in Gurgaon, supporting the management of packaging specifications and technical data across a variety of packaging materials.

Working closely with internal teams, global customers and external packaging suppliers, you will help ensure packaging information is accurate, organised and readily available to support business-critical decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a packaging background who enjoys working with technical information, systems and data in a fast-paced international environment.

This role offers a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and two days working from home, with working hours aligned to European business operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Collect, review and maintain packaging specifications from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Verify technical documentation, including specifications, CAD files, PDFs and Excel data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines packaging knowledge with strong attention to detail and a passion for working with technical information. You’ll be comfortable managing large volumes of data, maintaining accuracy and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple regions and functions.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential, as you’ll be working with colleagues and partners across our global network.

Skills and attributes for success

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a packaging-related environment.
• Working knowledge of multiple packaging materials, substrates and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing technical specifications and packaging data.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience using CAD software would be advantageous.
• Ability to read, interpret and, where required, create technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.
