Job summary

Accenture in Navi Mumbai seeks a seasoned Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer focused on VMware HCX, NSX-T, and hybrid cloud networking. You will configure and support HCX deployments, manage migrations, and optimize MON integration across cloud and on-premises environments.

You will collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure stability and performance, leveraging HCX, vSphere, and scripting where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years of experience in VMware virtualization and data center infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with VMware HCX deployment and operations (HCX 4.x preferred).
• Strong NSX-T knowledge: T0/T1 routers, segments, distributed firewall.
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS).
• Understanding of L2 network extension, VLAN stretching, and hybrid cloud networking.
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS or Azure VMware Solution is a plus.
• Knowledge of HCX Enterprise licensing requirements for MON activation.
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting (packet capture, routing tables, MTU/path analysis).

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure HCX components across source and destination sites.
• Support bi-directional VM migrations using vMotion, Bulk Migration, Cold Migration, and RAV.
• Manage HCX site pairing, fleet upgrades, and appliance lifecycle operations.
• Troubleshoot HCX interconnect, WAN optimization, and tunnel failures.
• Configure MON network extensions and per-VM routing policies.
• Validate and optimize MON policy routes for traffic between source and cloud gateways.
• Collaborate with NSX and cloud teams to ensure smooth integration.
• Provide L2/L3 support and runbooks for HCX-based migrations.

Key Responsibilities

HCX Core Support

• Deploy and configure VMware HCX Connector, HCX Manager, and Service Mesh appliances across source and destination sites
• Support bi-directional VM migrations using vMotion, Bulk Migration, Cold Migration, and Replication Assisted vMotion (RAV)
• Manage HCX site pairing, fleet upgrades, and appliance lifecycle operations
• Troubleshoot HCX interconnect, WAN optimization, and tunnel failures

MON Mobility Optimized Networking

• Configure and manage HCX Network Extension with MON to enable migrated VMs to reach segments within the SDDC without sending packets back to the source environment router Broadcom
• Set Target Router Location (Cloud/On-premises) at per-VM granularity for vMotion- and RAV-migrated workloads
• Configure and validate MON policy routes that define which traffic is routed through the source gateway versus traffic routed through the cloud gateway Broadcom
• Diagnose and resolve network tromboning issues on Layer-2 extended segments
• Enable/disable MON at the time of stretching a network or on already extended networks, and on an individual VM basis for VMs residing on extended networks in the SDDC Broadcom

NSX & Network Integration

• Ensure NSX Tier-1 router is connected to a Tier-0 router in the cloud environment prior to enabling MON, and that Layer-2 network extensions terminate correctly on Tier-1
• Validate NSX requirements for extended segments and troubleshoot Gateway/DHCP IP conflicts
• Work with NSX-T constructs (T0/T1, segments, distributed routing) in destination SDDC environments

Cloud Platform Support

• Support HCX deployments on VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, or Google Cloud VMware Engine
• Ensure HCX Enterprise license activation for MON features
• Coordinate with cloud platform teams for SDDC Compute Gateway configuration related to MON

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 - 7 years of experience in VMware virtualization and data center infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with VMware HCX deployment and operations (HCX 4.x preferred)
• Solid understanding of Mobility Optimized Networking (MON) and how it prevents network tromboning on extended L2 segments
• Strong NSX-T knowledge: T0/T1 routers, segments, distributed firewall
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS)
• Understanding of L2 network extension, VLAN stretching, and hybrid cloud networking
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS or Azure VMware Solution is a plus
• Knowledge of HCX Enterprise licensing requirements for MON activation
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting (packet capture, routing tables, MTU/path analysis)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• VMware certifications: VCP-NV, VCP-DCV, VCAP, or HCX Specialist
• Exposure to Broadcom/VMware support portal and KB-based troubleshooting
• Scripting skills for automation (PowerCLI, Python, REST API for HCX)
• Experience with FHRP (HSRP/VRRP) interactions with MON (a known compatibility consideration in HCX 4.7+)
• Familiarity with HCX HA (High Availability) for Network Extension appliances

Key Competencies

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset for complex hybrid cloud network issues
• Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, cloud, and network teams
• Customer-facing support experience (L2/L3 escalation handling)
