Job summary

YRG MERF is seeking an Outreach Officer for the Sabrang Clinic (Integrated Care Centre for Sexual Minorities) in Hyderabad, with Secunderabad office seating. The role focuses on field outreach, stakeholder liaison, referrals, and community events across Hyderabad.

The candidate will travel as needed, maintain records, and work closely with the Programme Lead to implement outreach plans while upholding confidentiality and sensitive engagement with sexual minority communities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to expend energies on field outreach in a mobile role.
• Own a two-wheeler with a valid driving licence for city-wide movement.
• Fluency in English and Telugu at minimum.
• Hindi or other languages knowledge is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Sensitive, non-judgemental approach with sexual minority communities and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out regular field outreach to raise awareness about the Sabrang Clinic and its services.
• Build and maintain linkages with community groups, NGOs, government departments, health facilities and partners.
• Set up and follow up referral pathways to ensure access to clinic services.
• Organise awareness activities, community meetings and events in and around Hyderabad.
• Maintain day-to-day records of outreach visits, contacts, and referrals; submit reports on time.
• Travel across the city and nearby areas as required.
• Coordinate with the clinic team and Programme Lead on daily plans and follow-ups.
• Represent YRG MERF and the Sabrang Clinic with courtesy, maintaining confidentiality.
• Take up any other task assigned by the Programme Lead within programme objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out regular field outreach to build sustained awareness about the Sabrang Clinic and the services it offers.
• Build and maintain working linkages with key stakeholders - community groups, community-based organisations, government departments, health facilities and other partners.
• Set up and follow up referral pathways, so that people reached through outreach actually access clinic services.
• Organise awareness activities, community meetings and small events in and around Hyderabad.
• Maintain day-to-day records of outreach visits, contacts made and referrals completed, and submit reports on time.
• Travel across the city and nearby areas at short notice, as the work demands.
• Coordinate closely with the clinic team and the Programme Lead on daily plans and follow-up actions.
• Represent YRG MERF and the Sabrang Clinic with courtesy, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Take up any other task assigned by the Programme Lead in line with the objectives of the programme.

Requirements
