Job summary

YRG is seeking a dedicated counsellor to work with adolescents, focusing on mental health and HIV prevention, including pre- and post-test counselling. The role involves direct interaction with young participants, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

The position requires 1–3 years experience, reporting to the site coordinator, and entails documenting sessions in the database while coordinating referrals to ART and related health services.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling and mental health support for adolescents.
• Experience with HIV prevention including pre/post test counselling.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and data entry in database.

Responsibilities

• Deliver counselling sessions and supervise interactions with young people.
• Provide counseling related to adolescent health, depression, and HIV prevention.
• Ensure reporting and documentation in the database with accuracy and timeliness.

YRGMERF is anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against Future Disease Threats by implementing a framework for urban-peri-urban coordination. This project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to support the coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.

About The Role

Conduct the counselling, supervise and interact with young people or teenagers, assisting them in resolving problems and ensuring their physical and emotional needs are being met. specialise in counselling, mental health area such as childhood depression, and HIV infection prevention including HIV pre post-test counselling and other health issues as well.

What The Support Looks Like

• You will work with each participant day to basis as per requirement:
• Understanding about adolescent health and their issues
• Ensure the reporting and documentation in the database Realtime basis
• Ensuring the confidentiality of all the clients
• Accompanied referral and linkage to ART and other services
• (Safe talk )One on one conversation with clients and finding challenges and solution to over come.
• Providing NACP services if required.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering the sessions

• He/ she will report site coordinator and assist to Centre manager.
• He /She will provide all type of counselling related to Adolescent and young PWID include Depression, Mental Health, Motivation counselling, HIV Pre-Post test counselling, Harm Reduction, Safe Sex and Safe injecting practices.
• Ensure the reporting and documentation in the database.
• Accompanied referral and linkage and assurance of linkage.
• Motivation counselling for PLHA participants.
• Timely reporting to Centre to manager and site coordinator.
• Ensure the confidentiality of all the participants.
• Any other task as per need of the organization with regard to supporting activities for similar studies, trials, project or assignments.
• Engagement of all activities conducted by Centre
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Training and supervision

• Complete the training program and implementation in day-to-day intervention
• Conducting college and school program.
