Job summary

Festo India seeks an experienced OT network engineer to design and implement secure industrial networks in Bengaluru. You will work across IT/OT environments, architecting network solutions and ensuring reliable operation in production settings.

You will configure switches, routers, and firewalls, monitor performance, perform tests and audits, document topologies, and collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to maintain security standards in line with IEC-62443.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a system engineer in OT networks.
• Experience with industrial network components and OT security.
• Knowledge of IEC-62443, VLANs, VPNs and routing protocols.
• Familiarity with firewall vendor products and management platforms.
• Certifications in Cisco or Fortinet are an advantage.

Job description

• Design and implementation of OT network solutions, considering the specific requirements of the production environment
• Configuration and optimization of network components such as switches, routers, and firewalls
• Monitoring network performance and carrying out network tests and audits as well as ensuring network security
• Documenting network topologies, configurations and changes
• Collaboration with external service providers and company-wide collaboration with other IT and OT product teams
• Hands-on experience configuring, deploying and managing firewalls in industrial and converged IT/OT environments
• Familiarity with firewall vendor products and management platforms (e.g., Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks), with certifications in Cisco, Fortinet or equivalent considered an advantage
• Knowledge of secure network design principles for IT/OT convergence, micro segmentation, zero trust concepts and secure remote access architectures
• Successfully completed studies in communications engineering, computer science or comparable qualification
• 5 years of experience as a system engineer in the field of OT networks
• Knowledge of network architectures, protocols, standards and technologies (e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, IEC-62443)
• Experience with industrial network components and technologies as well as knowledge of network security for OT networks
• Certifications in Cisco and Fortinet or similar are an advantage and familiarity with firewall vendor products is mandatory
• Independent and solution-oriented way of working, excellent communication and teamwork skills in international teams
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
