Job summary

Opella is seeking a Cybersecurity OT & Network Operations Engineer to monitor and maintain our global networking environment spanning OT and IT networks, ensuring 24/7/365 operations across manufacturing facilities. You will work with architecture teams to validate changes and support incident response with urgency.

The role requires extensive experience in networking and cybersecurity, with emphasis on industrial networks, SCADA, and OT security frameworks such as the Purdue model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Overall 10+ years of experience with 7+ years in networking and/or cybersecurity, focusing on networking and firewalls.
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
• Understanding of industrial networking and SCADA architec­tures along with OT security frameworks like the Purdue model.
• Experience with GitHub and SAP systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain network architecture and support applications used globally for Opella.
• Respond to service requests from end users per SLA commitments.
• Respond to incidents and outages with urgency and engage needed teams to resolve issues.
• Validate and deploy changes developed by architecture teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed networking requirements in projects and processes.
• Pursue continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and recommending value-adding changes.
• Provide incident response and recovery support for OT security breaches.
• Develop and maintain lifecycle documentation for networking assets, including installation, patching and decommissioning.

Job description

The Cybersecurity OT & Network Operations Engineer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the networking environment used in Opella. These include Manufacturing and Supply Operational Technology (OT) environments as well as Informational Technology network environments and all levels where the two intersect. This role ensures our systems can maintain a 24/7/365 working environment I our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and maintaining network architecture and network support applications used in Opella Globally.
• Respond to requests for service from end users meeting all agreed upon Service level agreements.
• Respond to incidents, problems and outages with a sense of urgency and engage necessary team members to resolve the situation.
• Validating and deploying changes developed by architecture teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure networking requirements are incorporated into operational projects and processes.
• Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement by assessing new technologies and recommend improvements to existing technologies that can provide value to Opella.
• Provide exceptional support for incident response and recovery in the event of OT security breaches.
• Engage with relevant teams to develop and maintain all documentation for lifecycle management of networking assets, from installation through decommissioning. This will include installation qualifications, patch management, budgeting for maintenance as well as replacement when asset is close to being out of support.
• Communicate effectively with organization during incidents and outages. This also includes communicating obsolescence of equipment and working with architecture teams to plan replacement with the business.
• Provide Accurate, legible, contemporaneous, Original and accurate documentation performed for support and operations activities.
• Maintain a challenger mindset in yourself and with your coworkers to pursue the correct way to resolve problems, not the easy way, while also preferring radically simple solutions to overly complex solutions that provide the same outcome or value.
