AutoZone is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing B2B Commercial Development team. You will deliver key business capabilities and technology solutions, focusing on architecture, operations, capacity planning, and performance management.

The role requires hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Linux/Unix, and high-volume web applications, plus collaboration with IT, Architects, and product teams to drive improvements and reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, computer engineering, or closely related field.
• Typically 7+ years as a Software Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on in Java, Spring, ATG; experience with Spring Boot and Linux/Unix.
• Experience with high-volume web applications and RDBMS.
• Familiarity with Git, Agile delivery, and release automation tools.

Position Summary

AutoZone is looking for an Systems Engineer to be part of our growing B2B Commercial Development team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of key business capabilities and technology solutions of services/applications with deep focus on architecture, production operations, capacity planning and performance management. Ability to solve complex problems, provide technical solutions, identify improvements and work on implementing your recommendations and collaborate well with other IT teams, Architects and business partners will be the key qualities

• Collaborate with Development teams to create new and continuously improve products, including planning, testing, staging and deployment.
• Develop new features, scaling, automation and self-healing processes for sites and systems.
• Identify and Implement code/configuration changes to improve performance and reliability as necessary.
• Review code and designs from other members on the team.
• Work with offshore team to hand over the tasks and reviewing the deliverables.
• Advocate for top-notch design standards and lead process improvements in collaboration with architects and Application Engineers
• Coordinate with product owners and business partners to gather requirements and document them as needed.
• Work with offshore team to hand over the tasks and reviewing the deliverables.
• Delegate work to other less experienced engineers and provide coaching/mentorship.
• Able to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision with solid problem solving, domain technical and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or closely related required.
• Typically requires 7+ years of experience in the role of a Software Engineer or similar utilizing Java, Spring, ATG, Linux/Unix, RDBMS is a must.
• Experience in Spring Boot, WebLogic, Apache/Nginx is highly preferred.
• Hands on cart, checkout, payment is must and having knowledge on BCC is preferred.
• Experience in designing/developing/Supporting high volume applications.
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Python etc.) and good understanding of Unix/Linux is preferred.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot critical production issues spanning applications/infrastructure and tune high volume online applications.
• Hands on experience using version control tools such as Git or similar is must.
• Previous experience in working on an Agile team is a desired.
• Strong ability to collaborate and openly communicate cross-functionally, particularly with Operations teams.
• Strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, driven, self-motivated, highly accountable with initiative and passion.
• Release Automation Engineering experience working with tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Puppet is preferred.
• Experience in web application development and implementing high level designs for IT solutions.
• Familiarity or experience in frontend and backend application development and troubleshooting
• Experience with monitoring tools (DynaTrace, Splunk, ELK, APM, etc.) is preferred.
