Job summary

INFINX is seeking a medical coder to review patient medical records and assign codes to diagnoses and procedures for proper billing to insurers and third-party payers. The role requires coding know-how, familiarity with AMA guidelines and medical terminology to ensure accurate reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of coding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with high productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Determining the provider and keying information into the system and applying, differences in coding requirements for various payers, clients and state programs.
• Ensure number of charts in batch equals total received from clients.
• Maintenance of daily and monthly MIS.
• Quality checking of the coding of the documents done by the associates.
• Keeping track of errors and calculating accuracies of the associates.
• Undertakes denial follow-up and appeals work wherever required.
• Conducting specialty training for experienced coders.

Job Description

As a medical coding, you will review patient medical records and assign codes to diagnoses and procedures performed so the facility can bill insurance and other third-party payers (such as Medicare or Medicaid) as well as the patient.

Coding medical charts with through the understanding of medical terminology, AMA guidelines, anatomy, physiology and procedures and assigning the appropriate CPT, ICD- 9 CM & HCPCS and special access codes based on medical documentation. Associate the diagnosis codes to the appropriate procedure codes (CPT) and sequence the codes in such a way as to insure proper reimbursement.
