Job summary

CERATIZIT India Pvt. Ltd invites applications for a dedicated cylindrical grinding operator to process carbide and steel cutting tools with high precision.

You will set up and run grinding machines, check tolerances, and document production data while adhering to safety and quality standards. Experience with micrometers, verniers, and dial gauges is essential, as is the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cylindrical grinding operations.
• Strong hands-on experience in grinding of carbide and steel cutting tools.
• Good knowledge of cylindrical grinding machines, wheel selection, and machine setup.
• Ability to achieve close tolerances and maintain high-quality surface finishes.
• Experience in inspecting components using measuring instruments such as micrometres, verniers, and dial gauges.
• Understanding of cutting tool manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Knowledge of safety practices and machine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform cylindrical grinding of carbide and steel cutting tools as per specifications.
• Set up and operate grinding machines independently.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
• Conduct in-process inspections and maintain production records.
• Follow safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Perform wheel dressing and basic machine adjustments to maintain grinding performance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and follow 5S practices in the production area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
