Job summary

Adhaan Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in Jharkhand is seeking an experienced Operator cum Mechanical Technician to operate gas compressors and engines, perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment at an industrial plant.

The role requires hands-on experience with reciprocating gas compressors, pumps, valves and rotating equipment, plus strong safety awareness and ability to work in rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in gas compressor and gas engine operation and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with reciprocating gas compressors and gas engines preferred.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, couplings, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-identification skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts at industrial plant locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas compressors and associated equipment per SOPs.
• Perform routine inspections of operating parameters (pressure, temp, vibration, lubrication).
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of gas compressors and gas engines.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, overheating.
• Assist in servicing, overhauling, and replacement of mechanical components.
• Monitor gas engine parameters like oil pressure, temperature, RPM, cooling, fuel supply.
• Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, gearboxes, couplings, lubrication systems, rotating equipment.
• Identify and rectify mechanical leakages where required.
• Maintain equipment logbooks, daily operating records, and shift handover reports.
• Follow Safety procedures, PTW, LOTO, PPE and EHS requirements.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Operator cum Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience in gas compressor and gas engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of compressors, engines, and associated mechanical equipment at an industrial plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas compressors and associated equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform routine inspections of pressure, temperature, vibration, lubrication, and other operating parameters.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of gas compressors and gas engines.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, and overheating.
• Assist in equipment servicing, overhauling, and replacement of mechanical components.
• Monitor gas engine parameters, including oil pressure, temperature, RPM, cooling systems, and fuel supply.
• Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, gearboxes, couplings, lubrication systems, and other rotating equipment.
• Identify and rectify mechanical leakages wherever required.
• Maintain equipment logbooks, daily operating records, and shift handover reports.
• Follow safety procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and EHS requirements.
• Report equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, and safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Support plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency response activities as required.

Educational Qualification

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in gas compressor and gas engine operation and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with reciprocating gas compressors and gas engines is preferred.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, couplings, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment.
• Basic understanding of P&ID, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-identification skills.
• Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts and at industrial plant locations.
• Strong safety awareness, teamwork, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Oil & Gas, natural gas processing, gas collection stations, gas plants, or compressor stations will be an advantage.

Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as Ariel, Waukesha, Caterpillar, Cummins, Siemens Energy, or similar will be an added advantage.
