Job summary

Kotak Mahindra Bank is seeking an meticulous Operations Team Member for the Wholesale Banking Group in Ahmedabad. You will verify legal documents, maintain records, and ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards across end-to-end documentation, collateral, and limit management.

You will liaise with auditors, coordinate with business, credit, legal and operations teams, support MIS reporting, and drive process improvements while managing a small team of operations officers.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end processing of Wholesale Banking Working Capital products including CC, OD, WCDL, LC, BG, and Trade Finance.
• Verify sanction terms, facility documentation, and disbursement conditions.
• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines and audit requirements; monitor risks and control adherence.
• Lead and mentor a team of operations officers/executives; monitor performance and productivity.
• Act as a key contact for Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit, RM, and customers; resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and participate in system enhancements.

Job description

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Operations Team Member to join our Commercial Operations team within the Wholesale Banking Group (WBG). The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying legal documentation, maintaining operational records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The candidate will be involved in end-to-end documentation verification, collateral and limit maintenance, insurance policy coordination, and post-disbursement tracking. The role also includes liaison with auditors, MIS reporting, and coordination with various internal teams for seamless operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Manage end-to-end processing of Working Capital products including: - Cash Credit (CC)
• Overdraft (OD)
• Working Capital Demand Loans (WCDL)
• Letter of Credit (LC)
• Bank Guarantees (BG)
• Trade Finance transactions
• Ensure timely execution of operational activities within defined TATs and service standards.
• Monitor operational queues and ensure adherence to productivity and quality benchmarks.

Documentation & Limit Management

• Verify sanction terms, facility documentation, and disbursement conditions.
• Ensure proper maintenance of security creation, limit setup, renewals, and modifications.
• Coordinate with business, credit, legal, and operations teams for smooth transaction processing.

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to internal policies, RBI guidelines, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor operational risks and implement corrective actions to minimize errors and exceptions.
• Drive compliance with KYC, AML, and operational control requirements.
• Support internal, statutory, and concurrent audits.

Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of operations officers/executives.
• Allocate work, monitor performance, and drive productivity improvements.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Ensure adherence to process controls and operational discipline.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key contact for Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit, Relationship Managers, and customers.
• Resolve operational issues and escalations promptly.
• Drive customer-centric service delivery and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process automation and digital transformation.
• Implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance customer experience.
• Participate in projects, UATs, and system enhancement initiatives.
