We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead and manage agricultural drone operations from field-based clusters.
You will oversee teams of Drone Pilots and Co-Pilots / Assistants, making sure spray operations are safe, efficient and of high quality, while coordinating with farmers, FPOs, dealers, customers, partners and local field teams. You will be responsible for daily operational planning, team management, field quality, drone utilisation, safety, customer coordination, reporting, payment processes and overall cluster performance.
This is a hands‑on leadership role. It needs strong field‑management skills, operational discipline, technical understanding and the ability to solve problems quickly in dynamic agricultural environments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Cluster Operations Management
- Lead and manage a cluster of Drone Pilots and Co-Pilots / Assistants.
- Plan, schedule and monitor daily spray operations across allocated areas.
- Make sure drones and teams are deployed on time according to the operational schedule.
- Monitor drone utilisation, acreage covered, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Make sure assigned drone systems are available and used to the fullest.
- Coordinate field resources, vehicles, batteries, equipment and other operational requirements.
- Ensure smooth execution of daily operations, from field preparation through completion and reporting.
2. Team Management and Leadership
- Supervise, guide and support Pilots and Co-Pilots / Assistants.
- Run daily team briefings and operational planning meetings.
- Monitor team attendance, discipline, productivity and performance.
- Give feedback and coaching to improve pilot performance and operational quality.
- Run onboarding and refresher sessions for field teams when required.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate with the Training team on corrective or refresher training.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined and safety‑focused team culture.
3. Field Operations and Quality Control
- Carry out regular field inspections and operational quality audits.
- Make sure pilots follow approved flight, spraying, safety and field‑operation SOPs.
- Monitor spray quality, field coverage, operating parameters and mission execution.
- Make sure operations take place in suitable weather and field conditions.
- Make sure fields are properly prepared, marked and accessible, and that teams are ready, before deployment.
- Monitor early‑morning operations and approved operating windows to achieve the best spray performance.
- Identify operational gaps and put corrective actions in place.
4. Farmer, Customer and Partner Coordination
- Coordinate with farmers, FPOs, dealers, estates, customers and local partners.
- Confirm field readiness and operational requirements before deployment.
- Answer customer and farmer queries about scheduling and operations.
- Support field demonstrations, customer visits and promotional activities when required.
- Build strong relationships with local stakeholders to support smooth and repeat operations.
- Escalate customer complaints and operational issues to the appropriate central team.
5. Technical and Operational Support
- Provide first‑level support to Pilots and Co‑Pilots / Assistants during field operations.
- Help with basic drone troubleshooting and on‑field resolution of technical issues.
- Coordinate with Drone Technicians and the central Technical team on complex issues.
- Make sure drones, batteries, chargers, spray systems and accessories stay operationally ready.
- Monitor equipment downtime and coordinate timely repairs.
- Act as a backup pilot when required, subject to the necessary certification and operational authorisation.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to DGCA regulations and SUIND safety SOPs.
- Enforce safe drone operation and field practices across the cluster.
- Monitor compliance with pre‑flight, flight, post‑flight, battery and emergency procedures.
- Make sure pilots and field teams follow approved operational practices.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, equipment damage and safety concerns immediately.
- Run safety briefings and reinforce safety practices regularly.
7. Operations Reporting and Data Management
- Maintain daily reports covering drone utilisation, acreage covered, number of missions, pilot productivity, drone downtime, operational issues, weather‑related delays, and incidents and safety observations.
- Make sure the Operations Dashboard / app is updated accurately and on time.
- Review operational data and identify productivity and efficiency gaps.
- Prepare daily and weekly cluster performance reports for the central Operations team.
- Track customer orders, completed areas, pending areas and operational commitments.
8. Payment and Financial Process
- Oversee payment collection from farmers and customers where applicable.
- Make sure payments are collected and recorded according to company SOP.
- Make sure collected cash and receipts are remitted to the company or the designated bank account on time.
- Maintain proper payment records and coordinate with the Finance and Operations teams on reconciliation.
9. Maintenance and Equipment Readiness
- Coordinate with Drone Technicians to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs on time.
- Monitor the maintenance status of assigned drone systems.
- Make sure critical spare parts, batteries, chargers, tools and field equipment are available.
- Track equipment issues and downtime.
- Make sure company assets are properly cared for, stored, transported and handled.
10. Logistics and Field Planning
- Coordinate vehicles, accommodation, equipment movement and other field logistics.
- Plan the deployment of pilots and drones based on workload and geographic requirements.
- Optimise travel routes and field deployment to improve operational efficiency.
- Support the set‑up of new clusters and operational locations.
- Coordinate the movement of drones and equipment between locations when required.
Team Structure
Each cluster is managed by an Operations Supervisor overseeing multiple Pilot and Co‑Pilot / Assistant teams. The Supervisor acts as both leader and hands‑on field manager, ensuring consistency, accountability, safety, productivity and operational discipline across the cluster.
The reporting line runs from Operations Manager, to Operations Supervisors, to Pilots, Co‑Pilots and Assistants. The Supervisor also coordinates with Trainers, Drone Technicians, Technical and R&D, Logistics, Sales and Customer Support teams as required.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in agricultural drone operations, agri‑tech deployment, field supervision or field‑service management.
- Proven experience leading or supervising field teams.
- Practical experience in agricultural drone spray operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of drone SOPs, agricultural spraying, field operations and DGCA compliance.
- Good understanding of drone systems, batteries, spray systems and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, coordination, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and operational priorities at the same time.
- Comfortable working in outdoor agricultural and rural environments.
- Physically fit and comfortable with field‑based work and flexible operating hours.
- Valid two‑wheeler / four‑wheeler driving licence: mandatory.
- Willingness to travel extensively across clusters and manage multi‑location operations.
Education
Graduate or Diploma in Engineering, B.Sc., Agriculture or a related technical field preferred.
Preferred
- Experience managing multiple agricultural drone teams or field‑service teams.
- Experience with Bumblebee or similar agricultural spraying drones.
- Experience with operations dashboards, digital field‑reporting systems or fleet‑management platforms.
- Experience in farmer, FPO, dealer, estate or customer coordination.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices and agrochemical applications.
- Experience in team training, pilot mentoring or field handholding.
