Job summary

TeamLease is seeking a senior Operations Manager to oversee the Global Engineering Centre in Bengaluru. You will drive productivity, quality, delivery performance, and employee engagement while aligning Indian operations with Austria HQ.

You will lead ~300 employees through department heads, manage cross-functional teams, and support strategic planning and growth initiatives with strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Role & responsibilities

The candidate will work closely with department heads, team leads, and corporate leadership to drive productivity, quality, delivery performance, employee engagement, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Oversee the day-to-dayoperations of the Global Engineering Centre.
• Ensure smooth functioning across all departments including Engineering,Bioprocess,Projects, Automation, Design, Procurement Support, Documentation, Quality, Administration,Process Simulation,HVAC, BIM, COMOS and other Software-Supportand Shared Services.
• Monitoroperational efficiency, productivity, and delivery timelines.
• Training of Team and new joiners
• Develop and implementoperational strategies aligned with company objectives.

Team Leadership

• Lead and manage approximately 300 employees through department managers and team leads.
• Build a high-performance and accountable work culture.
• Guide and mentor team leads and department heads for effective team management.
• Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.

Coordination with Headquarters (Austria)

• Act as the keyoperational interface between the IndiaGECand Headquarters in Austria.
• Ensure alignment of Indianoperations with global standards, processes, and business goals.
• Participate in globaloperational reviews, management meetings, and strategic discussions.
• Provide regularoperational updates and reports to Headquarters.

Project & Resource Management

• Ensure effective allocation and utilization of manpower across projects and departments.
• Monitor project execution support, delivery schedules, andoperational bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with project managers and functional heads for resource planning.
• Support business expansion andoperational scaling activities.

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhanceoperational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, ISO standards, statutory requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Implement systems and processes foroperational control and reporting.
• Monitor KPIs and establish performance measurement systems.

Employee Engagement & Administration

• Work closely with HR on employee engagement, retention, discipline, and performance management.
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Handle escalations related tooperations and interdepartmental coordination.
• Ensure proper communication flow across all levels of the organization.

Financial & Business Support

• Support budgeting, cost control, andoperational expense optimization.
• Reviewoperational costs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist management in strategic planning and business decision-making.
• Prepare Monthly Reports on development and commercial status for Management

Sales

• Support Offer Preparation for Engineering Projects (+ Customer Visits)

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Automation/Operations / Management or related field.
• MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.

Experience Required

• 1520 years of overall experience inoperations management, engineering services, manufacturing support, or project-based organizations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing large teams (200+ employees).
• Experience working with multinational companies and global stakeholders preferred.
• Exposure to Global Engineering Centres or Mechanical /Industrial Automation environments will be an added advantage.
