Job summary

BD is seeking an senior Operations leader to manage warehousing and transportation across India, ensuring efficient product flow from ports to customers. You will drive regulatory compliance, capacity planning and network design while leading a high‑performing team.

With 12–14 years in operations and 5–7 in leadership within med‑tech/FMCG/pharma, you’ll optimize costs, implement digital tools, and ensure GST, e‑way bills, and quality standards are met. Strong SAP skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12–14 years of progressive operations management experience.
  • 5–7 years in a leadership role within med-tech, FMCG, or pharma.
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating teams to operational excellence.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • ERP SAP proficiency and other ops software experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end warehousing and transportation operations across India, ensuring seamless product flow.
  • Manage import logistics, customs clearance, and inbound transportation to DCs with compliance.
  • Oversee a network of multiple warehouses, driving storage optimization and inventory accuracy.
  • Develop and execute warehousing and freight strategies for India’s logistics landscape.
  • Ensure on-time and cost-effective movement from warehouses to distributors and customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance service levels and supply chain resilience.
  • Lead transportation procurement, carrier management, and freight optimization programs.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, freight costs, and compliance.
  • Build partnerships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport partners.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, e-way bills, import regulations, quality standards, and EHS.
  • Manage capacity planning and network design decisions to support growth and cost efficiency.
  • Lead risk management and business continuity planning for warehousing and transport.
  • Drive digitalization and adoption of supply chain tech and analytics for visibility.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Customer Service, Commercial, Finance, and Regulatory teams.

Job Summary:

  • Lead end-to-end warehousing and transportation operations across India, ensuring seamless product flow from ports to customers.
  • Manage import logistics, customs clearance coordination, and inbound transportation to distribution centers while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee a network of multiple modern warehouses, driving operational excellence, storage optimization, inventory accuracy, and service levels.
  • Develop and execute warehousing and freight strategies tailored to India’s highly fragmented logistics and distribution landscape.
  • Ensure on-time and cost-effective movement of products from warehouses to distributors, dealers, and customers across urban and remote geographies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience.
  • Lead transportation procurement, carrier management, and freight optimization programs to improve cost and service performance.
  • Establish and monitor key operational KPIs covering inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, freight costs, delivery performance, and compliance.
  • Build strong partnerships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements including GST, e-way bills, import regulations, quality standards, and EHS requirements.
  • Manage capacity planning and network design decisions to support business growth while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Lead risk management and business continuity planning for warehousing and transportation operations across India.
  • Drive digitalization and adoption of supply chain technologies, analytics, and automation tools to improve operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Planning, Customer Service, Commercial, Finance, and Regulatory teams to ensure efficient execution of supply chain operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
* Minimum of 12-14 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role within a med-tech, fmcg or pharma industry setting.
* Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve operational excellence.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and other operational management software.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
